It
feels great to have my SECRET out, mainly because I felt like I could not fully
express myself. I did not keep my
pregnancy totally quiet. We told our
families right away and I shared with many of my friends. I also shared with my immediate work group
because I was feeling so lousy.
Being
that our youngest will be 5 this month I feel like I am starting over with the
whole pregnancy thing. I am more nervous
about things.. I also can’t remember much about my past pregnancies to compare
this round. I have not had an easy First
Trimester, not horrible, but not easy.
- I have not thrown up at all, but have had all day nausea. I realized pretty early on that small meals all day long would help with the icky feeling
- I have had extreme fatigue, making it difficult to want to do anything when I get home from work
- The headaches are probably the WORST. I never know when they are going to hit but they are light and noise sensitive. I feel bad because the boys don’t fully understand why Mommy is not feeling well.
- GOOD NEWS is that I have not gained any weight so far! My goal is to stay in the 25-30 range, but since my kids in the past have been 9+ pounders will see what happens.
I
look forward to Second Trimester because I am already feeling some relief and I
know that in a couple more weeks I may feel “normal” again.
Pregnant Running??
·
I
did not run with past pregnancies, so this is a new arena for me.
- I would like to walk/run 10-15 miles per week for the length of the pregnancy so long as it is safe.
- I do not plan to register for any races, mainly due to the cost and saving all the $$ we can.
- I am registered for Rock N Roll Seattle June 22nd, that is 1 month before my due date.. I hate to miss it, I may be a pregnant cheering station but I will not be walking/running 13.1 at 8++ months prego.
Thanks
to everyone for your kind wishes. The
Tall Mom Blog will be a bit different for a while, and I fully understand and support any readers that opt to take a break... This year I may be reporting more on
spectating, coaching and race photography.
Although I am hoping to test out some fun products once this bump starts
to grow. If anyone has any favorites
Pregnancy products I would love to know.

YAY!!!!!!! I am super excited for you, Mel :)
If you want any hand-me-down gear or clothes or linens I'm totally happy to pass along anything I might have that could be useful or fun :)
Congrats. We are also currently expecting #3 and due in June :) I have found that while I can continue to do my cross fit workouts my running has suffered. I think it is because in crossfit it is balls to the wall for awhile but then you rest and then back to it. Running is much more constant. Good luck in keeping your mileage up and congrats again on the baby.
I feel like I am starting over also since my girl is almost 5.5! We have nothing left - eek. I did sign up for a few 5Ks, but I am not registering for any distance over that. :) to a happy and healthy pregnancy!
It feels nice to have it "public", doesn't it! I bet you feel like a million bucks in the second trimester! :)
CONGRATS MEL! :)
P.s. word verification now? boo!
Congrats on your great news!! Best of luck!! I can't wait to follow your journey!
You'll be the best pregnant cheerleader ever! Wait...that doesn't sound right...
Congratulations on your pregnancy! I remember the 'all day' nausea. It's nauseating! However it's a good sign, there are enough pregnancy hormones to make you feel that way.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! This is very exciting!!!! I can't wait to read your updates. :-)
I am so excited for you and for the blog theme shift that is coming this year. I am pregnant as well, due in June, and it will be nice to read about how to be a good cheering section, race photographer, etc. I have switched from running to swimming since I found out I was pregnant, and it has been tough. I miss the running, I miss the races!
Congratulations Mel and rest of Tall-Family!
Isn't that the best feeling to finally have the secret out?! I remember almost telling people all the time!! I also had to really watch what I wore as it got farther along...it felt great to stop sucking it in!
I bought a For Two Fitness shirt that said Running for Two...not only is it super cute but it is SOOO comfy!
Congratulations, Mel! Hope you have a great and healthy pregnancy. (Isn't it great being pregnant? I'll be you're glowing.)
Cheers and best to all,as
You were an inspiration to me as I ran a half marathon today. When I got tired, I said to myself "Tall Mom can do this and so can I!" Praying for a healthy pregnancy for you!
