Cherish the Moments

I am Cherishing the Moments in life and Summer.... it is starting to get darker earlier and school is just 19 days away for LS#1... One thing I have realized this week is that I am a Fair Weather Runner.  I will run in a rain storm but over 90's and I am out, we have had a heat wave so there has not been much running this week.  We did get out on Monday for 5 miles..

And stopped mid-way to pick Blackberries.  LS#1 helped and loved eating them on the journey back.  LS#2 was asleep, as usual.  It was nice to take a little mid-run break.

The trail was pretty active that day with lots of Runners and bikers..

I volunteered as Course Marshall (aka Cheerleader) at the Matterhorn Madness 5K in Bonney Lake.  I got in some miles walking the course, I had to see the BIG HILL they were all talking about... yep it was a dousy..
The race was 3 loops so I got to cheer on the people a lot, which was AWESOME.  Hanging out in the woods, trying to avoid getting eaten by mosquitos.. GOOD TIMES!!  I will be volunteering more in the near future.. I loved it!!

This weekend we also made our way to the local track to play Soccer with the boys.  LS#1 is really athletic, it is fun to watch him light up when he scores a goal.
Will keep running as the weather allows and Blog when I can..
This is a reminder to Cherish the Moments...
because Life is what you make it..

Make is GREAT!!

I hear you on 90+ weather, that's a no go for me as well. Good job on volunteering, I'm sure the runners where happy to have a cheerleader :)

I've never volunteered for a race but I want to!! :) Sounds like a blast!
Life is definitely what you make it! I always try to remind myself of that! :)

That's great that you volunteered at a race! I have so much appreciation for the volunteers. I recently volunteered for a 50 mile ultra, but wouldn't want to do that again unless I was crewing for someone. I was a lone course marshall on a mountain highway and I only saw about 10 runners over 5 hours. It was their mile 40 and they were in some serious states of exhaustion! I think I'd enjoy the energy and excitement of a shorter race much more :)

Looks like a fun week! I was just thinking the other day about how quickly the year is going by. You're post is a great reminder to stop rushing through it all so much! Hope you have a great weekend!

This time of year makes me want to hit the pause button...that space between summer fun and the approaching school year! I can't believe how big the boys are getting!!! SO long!

I've been doing the same thing this week with the extreme (for the PNW) heat - taking it easy, chillin at the local pool with the little one, enjoying summer. You go!

I don't blame you for avoiding the heat wave. Yuck! We have no choice around here, but at least we sort of get used to it after a while. Nice to feel some cooler air lately though!

So fun volunteering! Isn't it the best?? Glad you had the opportunity to do that.

Miss you buddy! XO
