Post 999

This is my 999th post on this Blog... WOW that is a whole lot of Tall Mom.  Funny when I first started Blogging it was a family only Blog.. then I started this site to track my solo training, then running with buddies and now we have come full circle.  I am not sure what Blog 1,000 will bring, but I am glad to have a journal of where I have been. So lets get caught up on where I have been recently.
Helping set up
Saturday Kerrie hosted a Banana Blogger party which was a BLAST!  I will have a full report soon..

Then on Sunday MM and I had our last long run before the Fueled by Fine Wine Half this weekend.  It was HOT (for us) and we had the Little studs in tow.  Thankfully part of the trail are shaded.  We are BLESSED to have such an amazing paved trail 15 minutes from home.
We ran 8 miles... lets just call it a taper weekend :)  I have had a nagging pain in my foot/ankle/front of leg so I did some research... I am pretty sure it is related to my poor form and over pronation.  I plan to see a Podiatrist soon.  On Monday we played in Tall Grandma's local pool with the boys, which was AWESOME.. then Grandma watched the boys so we could run.  I joked that this was the closest I have come to a Triathlon.  We did 3 HILLY miles, which made me super nervous for our SUPER HILLY Half this weekend.  Wish us luck!!

Last night it was 82’ but we needed to get in a run.  We set out to the trail.  MM pushed the boys the whole way, he is AMAZING!  We saw 2 snakes, a big frog and several Robins on the trail.  Little Stud #2 fell asleep on the ride down and stayed asleep the whole time.  LS#1 was super quiet, I think the heat made him sleepy.
Our silly buddies
Jogging Stroller= Nap Time

Very Terminator

Love my Runner Husband
We finished with 5 miles, checked the River which was packed with teenagers, then headed home and hopped in our kiddie pool in the backyard.. FELT AMAZING to ice down the body.  We have a busy schedule coming up so I may disappear for a little while.. but will be back with post 1,000!!

LIFE IS GREAT!!

Hi Tall Mom- Question: -- I know you've posted alot about running w/friends in races- and that is your preference rather than running solo...My sister(in TX) - and I (in CA) - have been training for our first 1/2, which will be at the beginning of August... now that we are getting more LONG runs in, we've compared times/distances. and we are not very close. As this was my first race- my goal was 2:30- but no less than 2:45 - so that I can get in a corral for my next 1/2- the Tinkerbell 1/2 in January- with my sisters' pace- there is no way that is going to happen.... so BIG question - stay w/Sis- or run my own race? -- BTW we are traveling to Vancouver to do this race...

I'm SO jealous that you and your husband are doing the Fueled by Fine Wine half this weekend! It looks absolutely amazing, and I am hoping to do it in the next couple of years (as soon as I can comfortably leave my toddler with grandma since this would be a destination event with multiple overnight stays). I have been to the area before, it is incredible. You can't spit without hitting another great winery. Looking forward to reading all about it on your blog!

They added the new beach safety guidelines in Hawaii for 2013. Freak waves are dangerous even for us surfers and coast runners.
