Still Alive

Quick note to let you know that I am still alive, not blogging, not running, but doing a lot of running around. My Big Girl job has taken over for a bit and I am treading water trying to stay afloat. Life will be back to NORMAL (is there a normal?) soon. In the mean time run a few miles for me will ya??

  • Leave a Comment to let me know about your recent STELLAR runs, will help me feel closer to the road.
BE BACK SOON....

Missing you, Mel! Hang in there, and I look forward to hearing all about what you've been up to once life settles down a bit for you.

I'll be thinking of you on October 8, when I set out on my first 100 mile ultra! I'll pretend I'm back in Vegas, where you totally cat-called me ("Nice ass!") and how fun it was to see you!

Sending you lots of love!

Ran with my dad last night :) I don't think he's run on a road since 1974 (high school) and he killed it. I'm coming off a week of rest due to suspected overtraining. It was the best I have felt running in a LONG time.

I ran my first post-baby race this past weekend and it was the first time my splits were under 10!

Last night I created a runner game (based on a drinking game) to get through my treadmill run. It was a lot of fun and plan to use it again. :)

Thought of you this morning and how thankful I am for you :) You inspired me to run 1,000 miles this year and I'm not too far from 900. Anyway, know you're missed and know you're so appreciated!

Oh and for stellar? Ran 6 miles today. Supposed to be a tempo with 4 @ 8:21. Since I stink at tempos, it ended up being 8:56 (warm up), 8:16, 8:10, 8:00, 7:45 and 8:06 (cool down). So excited and am thinking I should have a pretty decent PR at my half in a few weeks!

I'm trying to be more Tall Mom-ish (despite being a rather short mom, myself) by including my kids' exercise goals into my plans. This turned into a whole-family outing for a lose-the-training-wheels ride on Monday and a modified workout last night that featured a 1-mile "training" run with my 8 y.o. daughter who wants to improve her mile time for PE. My shortened, faster run took a back seat, and that was just fine.

Hang in there & you'll be back on the roads and trails with your boys when life gets more settled (euphamism for normal, since that's not realistic in my world).

I have been training using this AWESOME plan created by a beautiful, talented, strong friend and I LOVE IT! Having the hubs running by my side also pushes me and makes me think of YOUR family runs!!
