21 + 11

Thanks to Everyone for the Birthday Wishes so far :) To my buddy Kiera Thank you for the card and to Jess HERE for the awesome card as well, her card sparked the title of this post.

I am 21 with 11 years experience!!

Just kidding I actually don't mind getting older. My 30's have been nice, surrounded by love and wonderful people. This last year has had EXTREME lows and some pretty AMAZING highlights as well. Days go by so fast, sometimes I wish I could go back to special days...you know those days when everything goes perfectly. My 30th Birthday was one of those days, PERFECT in so many ways. To go back and live that again would be a treasure.

But I know that there is no use in focussing on the past or trying to relive those moments, remembering is wonderful but there is no way to go back... So I will CHARGE forward making new memories and cherishing those special moments. Life is short, and each year is a blessing.

Blogger is not being very cooperative on my Birthday I wanted to add some photos of past Birthday parties, I will have to try again later..

Happy Birthday! Hope you have a great day with your boys today. :)

One of my fave memories isn't even from my birthday. I think it was my brother's 11th or 12th birthday and he decided he was too old for the birthday bumps. He took off on his bike and didn't come home for hours. My parents were both amused and slightly angry...

Happy Birthday Anniversary! ;-)

A favorite birthday related memory would be a birthday of my father's. I wrote a poem to celebrate my father and grandmother's birthdays (about how each of them came to make me kinda' thing). It was published in a book. I got the book for my grandmother. She died that year. My pap gave the book to my father. He died the next year. I was so glad I hadn't waited any longer to write about how important and loved they are to me. That series of memories is very special! Celebrating a birthday is also celebrating all that came from that person and before that person. It's like celebrating the links in a paper chain, without each one of those links you wouldn't be. And without you your "links" (kids/happy family) wouldn't be.
Pretty big deal when you look at it that way?!!

Happy birthday! Sorry I won't be able to go on a birthday run with you today. :( Home sick again.

One of my favorite birthday memories (not my favorite birthday), was when I started crying because I was getting old and my parents laughed at me. I was turning 15.

Happy Birthday Mel!

I have a lame birthday story. When I turned 21, we had a track meet the next morning. So my roommates and I walked to the bar next to our apartment at midnight, had one drink and went home and straight to bed. Boring.

Happy birthday! I hope your day is everything you want it to be!

My birthday occasionally falls on Thanksgiving weekend, so I always loved that my whole family was usually together for my birthday. It made me feel extra special.

Happy birthday!
My favorite birthday memory is actually of my husbands bray. He is a late November baby. When we first started dating he told me when his birthday fell on thanksgiving he didn't get a cake, just candles on the turkey. Me not knowing his joking ways yet beleived him and then said something to his mother. Fast forward to than thanksgiving and his birthday his mother put candles on the turkey and there was no birthday cake. (although there was tons of other desserts)

Happy Happy Mel! I am hoping that you are having a wonderful day! I don't have one favorite birthday memory in particular, but I LOVE my birthday and celebrating other people's birthdays. This year I am running the Chicago Marathon on October 9th, which is for my brithday (October 5th). I am hoping that that will go down as one of my favorites:)

Happy birthday, Mel!

For several years, my friend Seth would host a small dinner party for me on my birthday. He would make a fantastic meal for us, and we drank lots of wine. It was fabulous!
