Boston Marathon Playlist

Special Thanks to Chelsea HERE and TMB HERE for contributing to my new Playlist.. and to Chelsea for he text-support as I am a little behind the curve on I-Tunes. I had not updated my Playlist since before Eugene last year!!! GASP.... I know..

So yesterday I had my shiny new Ipod Shuffle, a list of songs provided from comments on the Sony Giveaway on and Facebook, and Itunes loaded up...

How did I chose the songs for my Boston Playlist?
  1. I asked friends and Tall Mom readers to share their favorite songs.
  2. While on my LONG commute I flipped through Satellite radio and FM to find songs I loved, and jotted down the song title, or what I thought it was. The songs you love to listen to in the car will more than likely be great on the run.
  3. Dug out old CD's that friends had sent me in past years and uploaded songs I love, some songs MUST stay on the play list.
  4. Hit Google for "Running Music Playlists" that was OVERLOAD and I found that many of the songs didn't jive with me. The sites I did like were on Run Like a Mother HERE and Running Skirts HERE
  5. Itunes has the Recommendation feature, I found a few songs while buying others.
  • I am not 100% done with my playlist yet.. I will post it when I am. For now below are a few songs that are Tall Mom Approved In no particular order....
  1. Firework- Katy Perry
  2. Rolling in the Deep- Adele
  3. Whataya Want from Me- Adam Lambert
  4. Eye of the Tiger- Survivor
  5. Stuck Like Glue- Sugarland
  6. F**kin Perfect- P!nk
  7. Beautiful Day- U2
  8. Send me on my Way- Rusted Root (Thanks Chelsea!!)
  9. Untouched- The Veronicas
  10. Viva la Vida- Coldplay
  11. Just the Way you Are- Bruno Mars
  12. The Dog Days are Over- Florence and the Machine
  13. Run This Town- Jay-Z, Kanye & Rihanna
  14. Hey, Soul Sister- Train
  15. Lose Yourself- Eminem
  16. Halo- Beyonce
  17. Home- Daughtry
  18. Beautiful- MercyMe
  19. Raise Your Glass- P!nk
  20. Keep Holding On- Avril Lavigne
  21. I Run to You- Lady Antebellum
  22. I Gotta Feeling- Black Eyed Peas
  23. Somebody to Love- Justin Bieber
  24. If Today was your last Day- Nickelback
  25. I'm Shipping up to Boston- Dropkick Murphys :)
That is not the the whole playlist...I need a minimum of 4 Hours and 15 minutes to be safe. I hope that one or more of these songs will get you moving. Thanks to ALL who helped me form the perfect Feeting Moving Fast Music. Now if I could get the songs to move in the order I want...yes I suck at Itunes.

  • Which Song would you add to this playlist? If you have a playlist on your blog please leave the Link in a Comment. This will help other Runners hop around to find the BEST MUSIC FOR RUNNERS.
Happy Tuesday!!

Adele is new to my list too...hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
BTW let me know when you figure out how to re-order songs in itunes, I've never been able to figure that out either.

I am always jotting song titles during my commute... or I just jot down a few lyrics so I can google it later if I don't know the name. :)

Great list!!! I have most of those, and will be downloading the rest STAT!

Britney Spears - Till the World Ends. -That songs makes me want to dance

If you have a shuffle you have to create a playlist in order to be rearrange your songs to the order you want. I have a shuffle too and tried to put the songs in the order I wanted and they wouldn't with just the songs in the main library. So I made a playlist called Run Cynthia Run and was able to change the songs around. Hope that helps :)

I am jotting down a few of these to ad to my list. Lots of them are already on it! I love "Survivor" by Destiny's Child and Avril's "What the Hell." Oh and Buck Cherry "Crazy B*tch," but it is pretty vulgar...however, the beat gets me going.

Thanks for stopping by and high fiving me for my Half! Is there anyway to change my blog address on the Tall Mom 1000 Club? I wasn't sure if I could do that myself or if I needed to have you change it. Anyway, THANKS!!! :)

I love the list, and the suggestions of others here! I need to switch up my playlist too.

I'm sure Boston will be an emotional day, no matter what, but what about adding a song that reminds you of your Dad? I had a few songs for each of my parents to keep them with me on the day of my marathon last fall. They were both strong, amazing people, and hearing music that reminded me of them pushed me to stay strong in the marathon.

No Lady Gaga????? I am a huge fan of running to her stuff...really any of it but right now I love the new one "Born this way" I also love Kei$ha's "we are who we are." While most of my running music resembles a teeny bobber (read: any popular pop or rap song) I also love running to The Shins in particular "Sleeping Lessons" and "Sea Legs."

I have a book blog, but I'm a beginning runner so I follow you for inspiration :)

As far as music goes... I love running to Beyonce (Single Ladies, Crazy Love, If I Were a Boy), Ke$ha (Tik Tok, Your Love is my Drug), Keri Hilson (Pretty Girl Rock), Diddy (Coming Home), Jason Derulo (Ridin Solo), Jason Bieber (Never Say Never, Baby), Lady Gaga (Born this Way, Just Dance), Jay Sean (Down, 2012), Black Eyed Peas (Where is the Love, I Gotta Feeling) & anything Glee!

Hope that helps!
