Numbers

I am a NUMBERS DORK and I am not afraid to admit it :)

Examples:
  • I love catching the clock at 1:23, 3:33, 3:21, 1:11, etc.. I get a dimpled grin many times on day.

  • I always analyze my Race Bibs

  • I often text friends on fun dates and times.. For Example I tested T Here "3/11/11 at 11:11", love her she replied "3/11/11 at 3:11" Hehehe

  • I get a little giddy when my total at a store has .33cents
You get the idea...

What NUMBERS are on my mind right now??

14576- My Boston Race Number, I am deep in Wave 2

27- Days to Boston Marathon

14- The Number of Miles I ran with Amy..funny story
I failed to look outside and dressed so wrong.. it was 28' and chilly and I was bare legged.. But at least my outfit was cute.. Love Runningskirts.com the socks and skirt I bought just before Rock N Roll Seattle, kinda fun with the blue and pink.
Amy is always warm and she dressed much smarter than me, but was in a tank by the end of the run. She SAVED me by bringing supplies for a mid-run pitstop.. UGH!!! Bonding with the trail and my lovely running buddy.. So proud of her, 14 miles already and she is training for her first Half Marathon in June.. She also has already met the March 93 mile CHALLENGE.

3- The number Gonzaga Buddies who will have Twins in 2011. KT had her boy and girl in January, Jess had two boys this week and Syd is due in June with twin girls. Syd was one of my closest friends on my team at Gonzaga, although most of the time we were fighting for playing time or tossing elbows at eachother. Thinking about her strength and power being passed on to twin girls...NCAA Coaches should start recruiting now...Future hoops will be in good hands.. 16- Sweet 16 that is!! In case you missed it my Lady Bulldogs (Zags) won last night beating #3 UCLA and advancing to the Sweet 16. Second year in a row. Congrats to Coach Kelly Graves and all the ladies!! I am one proud Alum... Want proof?

33- My Number at Gonzaga, not sure why this photo is so small, it was before Digital was really popular :) Feel free to jump on the Gonzaga Women's Bandwagon all are welcome.93- How are you doing with your CHALLENGE?? I am at 122 for the month. I have not run this week but I will. This is the last BIG WEEK before Taper.
Taper is such a weird animal, so I am going to do a mini Taper, reduce my miles but continue to run without letting the Gremlins in..

  • What NUMBERS do you have floating around right now??

I haven't gotten there with numbers yet. Not sure I've ever even given them thought unless I see 666. ha
I am at 73 miles for March. With my remaining runs this week I should be at 90 before Monday. Woohoo! I'm taking another "easy" week next week since Sunday (april 3rd) will be my first half marathon (I'm gonna go puke now..)!

I am going to have to go to the runningskirts website. They look so cute on you!

40...days until my first marathon

96...miles this month (though I can't get Daily Mile to reflect that, I'm hopeful that I'll have enough miles on there to make my 93 by the end of March). My most ever!

Every time I see 11:11 I tell someone I love them. A high school friend used to do that and it stuck.

I LOVE that you love numbers. I have 3:40 flashing through my head lately... :D

I'm not much of a numbers person unless it is decreasing on a scale or increasing on a run! ;-)

I just ordered the pink polka skirt on the Canadian outlet website (fyi - cheaper that way too)! Hoping by June I'll look more like Mel in it rather than a hungry hippo!

Love the pics Mel! Good Job Girl!

Whenever I have to pick a # for something, I usually go with 26 because that's my birthday. I just realized the other day...it's also a marathon (minus the .2, of course). Is it a sign?

PS: LOVE the basketball pic! Awesome!

You know I love me some number crunching! That text cracked me up and I was so excited for it to be 3:11 so I could text back. I'm such a dork.

4 days until National
148 miles this month.

I always seem to catch the clock at 1:31, which is my birthday.

Does anyone else make a wish if they catch 1:11 or 2:22, etc.? I was taught that as a youngin' and do it to this day.

The numbers always buzzing around in my head are around calories...I have a hard time (ok impossible time) not counting them.

How did I know that was your jersey # in college?!! :)

I love numbers too! I don't really count down to specific days, but I count things throughout the day. Like chairs, or stairs, or phone numbers. It's fun haha

Love the basketball pic. Oh, and you are looking quite slim and trim. I'm trying to follow your lead.

Numbers are THE thing right now I guess! I just did a numbers post as well :)
I think numbers help to put things in perspective sometimes!!

PS - The Boston marathon is on April 18, one day before I turn 30! That must be luck on your side no!? :)

I've always been a numbers person, but from a whole different perspective - I'm good with them. I've never looked deeply into their meaning.

But here are the numbers being tossed around....
25 - the # of miles between my place and two friend's places that I want to run.
7 - the number of miles I SHOULD be running for this week's long run
23 - # of miles total this week
18 - # of miles I will most likely run at NERelay

I always love to read about how other people dissect numbers. I don't do that but kinda wish I could haha.

I surpassed the 93 miles challenge on Sunday when I did my 17 miler (at my fastest time ever if I do say so :)
I am at 107 miles so far for this month :)

I always tend to look at a clock at the time 9:11.

598 = Bib # for 2009 Women Run the Cities 10-Mile race AND for 2010 100% Irish TC 10-Mile.

33 was part of my last two bib numbers (433 and 339). :)

I've got 14 floating around since that's how many miles I've done for the cupcake marathon. Only 12.2 more to go! I hope your Boston number turns out to be a lucky one!

I like numbers the way you like numbers! I do not like numbers if I'm adding things up or trying to solve a math problem - not my strong suit :)

Numbers in my head right now:
22 - the longest run I have ever done. Just did this one Sunday
101 - the # of miles I've run in March - 10 more days to go to add to this number
3:40 - time I need to run to BQ

so I thought of you this morning when I got in my car and after putting $30.03 worth of gas in my car (seriously I think the pumps refuse to stop on an even number) and I noticed that it was 7:07AM and to top it off my mileage in my car said 101010......I started laughing and my daughter asked me what mommy. :) LOL

I love the numbers stuff. My mom always points out interesting dates. My age (42) is "the answer to life, the universe and everything" (according to Douglas Adams). I want a tee-shirt that says "25 hours of back labor" (I earned it!). My first half marathon was 13.1 miles in 3:13:13 (don't judge me--I had shingles).
And Mel, you missed that those 3 sets of twins include 3 girls and 3 boys.

33 was my jersey # too. 3 is my lucky number. In fact, this Saturday, I'm going to run my 3rd half marathon on my 33rd birthday. :) (And I met my fundracing goal of $333 for Back on My Feet). :)

The number in my head is 168. If I execute next week as planned, that will be my total mileage for March, and it'll be my highest mileage month ever...

Can't wait to hear about Boston!!!
