See Ja(y)ne Run

WELCOME to the new Tall Mom Bloggy Pack Members!!! What a surprise when I logged in to see an influx of new Followers.. The Tall Mom 1,000+++ Club is going strong, I added 80 new members last night and have 130++ emails to sort and log... With the popularity I am thinking of closing the club early so I can get a handle on things. so if you are interested PLEASE email before 1/7.

Reading through blogs of buddies this week I see a trend toward Goals and Race Schedules... I have not come up with 2011 Goals and the only race on my Schedule is the Boston Marathon... There are options to do a race every month, although i doubt that is possible for me...

RACES I am considering (mostly local):
  • January- No Sun Fun Run 5K
  • February- Valentines Run??
  • March-St. Pattys Day Run??
  • April- Boston Marathon
  • May- Eugene Marathon (spectator), and Capital City Half Marathon
  • June- Race for the Cure 5K Seattle, Vancouver WA Half Marathon and Rock N Roll Seattle (spectator)
  • July- See Jane Run Half Marathon
  • August- Railroad Days 5K and 10K
  • September-Run Wild 5 or 10K, Super Jock & Jill Half Marathon, and You Go Girl Half Marathon
  • October-Haunted Hustle 5K (runs through the cemetery where my Dad was buried)
  • November- Turkey Trot??
  • December- Santa Runs Tacoma 5K
The one I am REALLY excited about is the See Ja(y)ne Run Half Marathon in July.. I have convinced my Tall Friend Amy and Tall Sister Jayne to be on TEAM TALL MOM. This will be their first Half Marathon!!!
All Female Races are GREAT!! I will create a beginner training plan for each of them and we will run as a TALL MOM TEAM whatever pace feels right on race day!! The love for racing is spreading and I LIKE IT!!!! I posted the link to See Jane Run on my Facebook page and a lot of friends are interested. There is also a 5K and races in places other than Seattle, check it out HERE.

2011 is going to be awesome for you!! Your race schedule is jam packed (yayy). I haven't set goals yet either, but would love to run a marathon this year. I'm considering Pittsburgh or Cleveland (thoughts??). I have many local races and a couple 1/2 marathons.

PS - Tall sister Jayne is very pretty, just like you! :-)

My husbandand I are doing the No Sun Fun Run! He is just getting home from Iraq next week and it'll be a nice fun run for the two of us - no pressure. Just FUN. I would love to see you there :)

Your schedule looks like mine from last year. Lots and lots of races! I'm trying to tone it down this year and just run a few "goal" the races, plus my bank account took a huge hit from all the travel and races last year.

So cool you got your sister to agree to run the half. Mine is coming with me and G to San Francisco, but we haven't been able to convince her to run. I really wish she would change her mind.

I've been so sick lately which is why I can't fathom running more than a mile any time soon. Once I get out of this funk I will be able to set some distance goals! Thanks for the links!

I'm definitely interested in the See Jane Run 1/2. It would be great to all get together.

I'm currently working on my Goals/Race List. It can get overwhelming. I'm trying to narrow things down.

See Jane Run Half was my first half last year, and though it was tough because I was sick and didn't know it, it was an awesome race and I'm planning on it again this year here in California. Have fun with chocolate and champagne!

OK, the See Jane Run race sounds awesome. Who DOESN'T want to run for chocolate and champagne?

Oh, I posted about the 1000+++ club on Run Wifey Run today - smiles!

I have a whole list of local races I want to run, but I'm trying to get my running friends to join me, and everyone is hesitant to commit to anything. Lame. I love running with friends, though, so I'm a slave to their whims.

So excited to see you spectating Eugene and that the You Go Girl in September is on your radar again! My race calendar goes up tomorrow.

There is a See Jane Run in Boise Idaho and my sister and I are going to run it this year! This will be her first half marathon also so I am excited to run the entire race with her and just support and encourage her.

I find at least 1/2 my races through the local road runners web site. And though they usually don't offer much in the way bling - these are cheap fun races (like, a $20 15K or a $35 Half Marathon).

I am hoping to run a series of local races. It all depends on if my leg will cooperate. My goal is to run my first marathon in March (the National Marathon). Although I have a series of other races I hope to run, that is the only one I really care about.

My google reader just found you and I can SO relate to you on many levels. I love the name of your blog! I'm so impressed with your speed tall AND fast - I'm jealous! I'm contemplating your club - great idea!

Exciting news that Jayne is going to run a half marathon and what an appropriate choice! You will have so much fun training and running together!

I'm looking forward to the Four Courts Four Miler run in Arlington, VA in March. All runners (of age of course!) receive a ticket for a free beer at the Four Courts pub afterward. I also enjoy The Race for the Cure in Richmond, VA that I run every year with my mom and sister.

Can I just say I love the spelling of JAYNE...so pretty! Going to be an awesome year for you and your fam! RUN JAYNE RUN!!

I think you should do an interview with JAYNE...could be fun, ya know in all your spare time.

GREEN with envy... I want to live near enough to do a See Jane Run event - they are the first running related company I ever ordered anything from and I feel like they are an old friends from way back.

As for events this year - I need help. I feel like everything I do is at the end of the year and I don't have a lot to train for at the beginning. I guess I should go on a search!

I am so excited about 1000++! I choose my races based on course mainly, I like scenic courses that are not in the city. I am most looking forward to the Pacific Crest Half Ironman

I'm excited for the Get Lucky 7K in March, where I'm hoping to significantly improve over last year's time (I ran while injured). My fiance and I are walking a marathon in May. And of course, there's the Ragnar Relay in August.

I'm debating between two races for later this year: City of Lakes 25K or RnR Savannah Half-Marathon.
