Writers Block

The world feels COLD. My Dad loved to read this blog, I always thought of him waking up drinking his coffee and clicking on Tall Mom...funny how the Internet connects people...

On Saturday morning my brother called Dad had a heart attack at age 59 due to complications from Pneumonia... He passed away before I could say Goodbye..

MY HEART IS BROKEN!!

Dad was always happy, always smiling, an amazing Father and Husband. My parents were married for 34 years, for him it was his forever. I sit here attempting to write his obituary, but I have WRITERS BLOCK... How can I capture all that he was in a short paragraph???

I can't run, I can't think, I am barely functioning..

  • For now I leave you with some advice... Do not let space, time, illness, or petty things keep you from your family. LIFE IS SHORT!!! Imagine that you could not say Goodbye, imagine it is your last chance with that person. It will totally change your perspective.

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal,
love leaves a memory no one can steal.

I am so sorry to hear you have lost your dad. In the next few days and weeks a lot of people who knew your dad will tell you all sorts of wonderful things about him. Soak it all in and write it down. When I'm really missing my dad, I look back on those words from that time. It helps.

Big hug.

I'm experiencing writer's block trying to think of something more to say. I lost my dad to a sudden heart attack 5 years ago. I was 34 and I was not ready to lose my dad. It's not easy and I still think of him daily, as you will think of your dad.

My heart goes out to you and your family.

Mel, I'm so sorry. I was in your place 6 years ago with my Mom. She had a mild case of pneumonia, was given the wrong meds, became septic, and before either her or I could say good bye or even knew that it was bad she was gone. Even though I was there with her we never got those moments. I am forever changed. My beautiful Mom was taken from me. Losing her is what got me on the path to losing weight and getting healthy for my girls. I don't want them to go through what I did.
Life is short. So many moments are wasted. I know that I cherish each one I get.
Know that I am here for you if you need me. I'll drive right up there at any time. Big hugs, Mel.

I am very sorry to hear of your loss. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Your advise is something everyone should listen too. When my fiance was deployed last year they had many deaths. He was lucky and so was I he made it back unharmed physically. One of our friends what not so lucky. Her husband was KIA. She never got to say goodbye. She started the Run to Remember group because she said even though her life feels like she is on a treadmill, while everyone elses is moving foward, when she is out on the road she can at least say she ran from point A to point B. She went for her first run a day or so after she found out of his death. She said it was a short run, but for those 20 min she wasn't sobbing and thats what she needed at that time. Before each race I say a prayer for our fallen heros. And I cherish each moment I have with my family cause life is short.
I will say a prayer for you, your family and your dad before my run tonight.

I'm very sorry to hear your loss. He was taken way too early, but he is in a much better place now.

I am losing my father slowly to a horrible incurable terminal disease called progressive supranuclear palsy, which has robbed of him of the ability to talk, to walk, to eat solid foods. It's very tough to see him deteriorating.

I know it's no consolation right now but your dad did not have to suffer, and the memories you are left with are of a strong and capable man.

I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.
