A Tale of 3 Runs

Welcome new Tall Mom Bloggy Pack Members!! and Thank you for the HUGE High Five :) I bet you are wondering what is next for Tall Mom???

Lake Sammamish Half Marathon on 10/23 HERE it promises to be a flat and fast race on smooth gravel trail.. And Guess what?? There are still some bibs left in the Marathon. Head HERE and Sign up before those 20 spot are GONE..

I am hoping for a PR so the next couple weeks I have to keep up my miles and do some speed work. I planned a Long Run with Amanda HERE on the Orting Trail, this was us coming Full circle. Not only did we meet just under a year ago for a run on this trail, but we ran her last long run before her first marathon together.

I am SAD that she is moving away but I will save that for another post.. Next weekend she will run the Portland Marathon and I will be there to cheer her on and support however I can. This will be our true GOODBYE! I will be sure to pack Kleenex in my running skirt.. Our run today was PERFECT, although I did get a little Nature channel style show while waiting for her ;)

My legs were fresh and for the first time in a very long time I felt STRONG!! The antibiotics must have worked. Tall Mom is BACK.. Time passed quickly, I really don't remember much because we were pretty lost in conversation. 8 miles done, almost started to cry, chatted for a bit then headed home...

I should have been closer to 13 miles for Half Training so I asked Muscle Man if he wanted to run, he had just gotten done lifting for over an hour but was totally willing. It was misty, just before lunch, the boys were moving like crazy. We finished with 2 miles. 10 total for the day!!

Relaxing and folding laundry I heard my phone ring... It was Tammy and she wanted to do 7 miles. Muscle Man said it was OK, and off I went. 3 runs in one day :) I was not sure I could do 7, because i had been chugging water like crazy...but I was willing to try. Tammy will run Victoria next weekend so we chatted about Race strategy, she is soooo ready!! She is an experienced runner but still willing to ask my thoughts, makes me feel really good!! My stomach was sloshy with water and my knees ached a bit...I knew Tammy would be safe in the area so when we looped back to my car I dropped out...
3rd run done and 14.75 miles for the day. Not too shabby :) I waited way to long to see the Doctor, who knows how long I had an infection that was holding me back. Don't do what I did!! If you feel off get checked out!!

Great runs! That Eugene Marathon shirt with your white skirt looks fantastic, so slimming! Much better than those Nike ice cream shirts we wore :) So glad you're back and healthy!
