Refreshing

My morning started with the tap tap tap of rain on the roof... funny in our new house the rain has such a different rhythm it is going to take some getting used to. Last day of August and it already felt like FALL! The trees are going crazy taking over my running trails, soon the same trails will be covered in leaves..

This was Run #5 of my 10 day in a row CHALLENGE from Shelly HERE.. We had a group lunch at work so I ran at night, after consuming TASTY homemade pizza.. With a full belly, tights, long sleeves and a hat, I set out to weather the RAIN.
It was REFRESHING!! I really do love running in the rain. My Somnios kept my feet dry as I pushed the pace on the pavement. I am still TORN on if I will run the Jock N Jill Half Marathon on Labor day. I have an itch for a Half PR but I really like to train my legs for the pace and I am not sure I am ready. When I plugged in my Garmin I realized I was at 7:46 overall pace for the "Rainy Pizza Belly 5K," (future race director here, I have the BEST race name ideas, LOL) the race pace I am shooting for is 7:45... Hmmm... Still TBD.. Is anyone running Jock N Jill?

  • SOOOO many accomplishments and AMAZING things going on in Bloggy land. I will be giving out HUGE HIGH FIVES this week, so please please pretty please email me (tallmomontherun @ hotmail) or leave a comment. I will TRY to link you all in.
  • REMINDER: You have until 9/2 to complete your 80 miles in August Challenge. Please email me your total on 9/3 along with a link to your Blog.
HAPPY WEDNESDAY!!

I WILL put in one more mile this afternoon to get my 80 by 9/2!

I'm with you. I find running in the rain refreshing and dramatic and it just pushes me! Jesse is doing the Bonney Lake Labor of Love Sprint Tri on Saturday. It is his last of the season and he is really hoping to top his last time despite the foot injury.

Oh and do biking miles count otherwise I am not even close to 80 miles! 5k and sprint tri training just doesn't get you there!

Just hit my 800th mile yesterday. I am so going to make the 1000 in 2010. Moved my goal to 1400 in 2010. Oh and I did get in 80 in August.

I'm jealous of the long pants and long sleeve shirt too. It's still 99 degrees here :(

You ROCK!! I can't believe your milage. You really inpsire me.

You look adorable!

Oooh, I forgot we were counting that challenge through the 2nd since we started late. If we were counting bike miles, I'd have had it in two days...as it is, I'm coming up about 7 miles short and trying to decide if I care enough to run the extra. Guess we'll find out on the 3rd!

Running the Wine Country Half Marathon in Dayton, Oregon, as a relay team with my husband this Sunday. I've never done a half as a relay before, but the entry fees were over the top on this one. Wine tasting afterwards on Sunday morning!

It's going to fall here pretty soon too, which means cooler temps. I am actually looking forward to wearing my tights and long sleeve shirts again.
Good job on your run! :)

I love running in the rain, too. And like everyone else, I'm so jealous about the fall weather. It's still a sauna in Baltimore and we've had two days of Code Red, so I have to run on the treadmill rather than outside. I can't wait for fall!

I love rainy running, too... unfortunately, it's been so dry this summer that I haven't run in the rain even once. I'm looking forward to cooler (sometimes rainy!) running weather. It's sure to be coming here soon :)

Marlene seriously is trying to be an overachiever... :)

Rainy Pizza Belly 5K...with a great pace too! You crack me up! Plus, you're looking AMAZING, as usual.

Color me jealous of your run! It's not only near 100 here, but there's a code red alert for the air. Sigh. I ran a measly 2.4 miles on the treadmill (at least they were in my new Vibrams).

I so agree about running in the rain. I did it this morning and it feels so great . . . well it feels great when the temperatures are at the right spot. ;-)

I will be sending you my August Challenge numbers . . . 115. Yahoo!!!

whatever decision you make about Jock N Jill, I'm sure it will be the right one.

I'm not fond of running in a heavy downpour, but a refreshing light rain is nice! I can't believe it's already September!

I posted this week's chobani giveaway, so head over today if you get a chance. It's one day only!

tights and long sleeves??? man, it's only going to be 96 here today! ;-)

Pam said...

Okay, I've got my 80 miles in! No more, no less! haha!

I love running in the rain too! Thank Goodness otherwise I would have to run on the treadmill like everyone else at the gym, I hate treadmill running! Good luck this weekend! I hope we can get a run in together soon? Orting Trail Saturday Morning??????
