New Sidewalk

I set out last night for a 5 mile run in my neighborhood. There have been bulldozers, backhoes and other fun Bob the Builder equipment at the end of our path. Last night the machines were gone and in there place was NEW SIDEWALK!!! Thank you taxpayers and city of Bonney Lake for .5 of beautiful new running or a full mile round trip. YIPPEE!!

I thought about being one of the first few runners to pound the pavement. Funny the things that make me happy. The run went well, my legs felt heavy. I looked up my mileage last week, only took 1 day off and got in 19 miles.....so funny because most of my friends are covering that mileage in 1 day... A reminder this is my break from Marathon training.

The good thing about this break? I miss it!! And I will go into training for Boston will new excitement and FRESH LEGS!

UPDATE: I will be running Jock N Jill Half Tomorrow, the Race Director was super SWEET. I am not sure what the Plan is yet... off to figure that out now. I will either race for a PR or run with Jill and document our journey. Either way it will be a fun way to spend a Labor Day morning.

  • What are your plans for the weekend?
  • How did your long run go? What was the distance? How did you feel?

We made the trip down to Portland for the weekend and I have yet to go on my run this morning. Gotta get some coffee first. I'm planning on 6-7 miles to help me prepare for my 15K race next Saturday. Good luck tomorrow!

I ran 10 miles yesterday with my brother. We're visiting him in Wisconsin, and the weather is beautiful and much cooler than in the St. Louis area. I usually run alone, so it was nice to have the company, and 10 miles is a new distance PR for me! :)

Tomorrow is our drive back home :( , but today is going to still be family fun. Enjoy your race tomorrow!

my long run was the same as all my other runs recently....four miles...but I keep getting through it faster and faster as my body recovers from the extended injury break :-)

Our neighborhood is being extended and I can't wait until all the trucks, bulldozers, and stray nails are OFF the streets so I can run there.

Good luck on your race... looking forward to the report.

I just got finished peaking for my first half marathon - 20k or 12.5 miles done on a new route with great company! It felt great, except the last mile or so due to some pesky blisters.

Good luck on the half tomorrow. Regardless of whether it is a laid back run or if you are going for a PR, have fun!

Yep, the things that make us happy! I was just thinking about how my future home/town does not have many sidewalks, unless they have done some serius work in the last 3.5 years.

18 miles went well....but not well enough to do 13.1 tomorrow! I'm affraid I could injure myself. I felt my hip twinging a bit today. NOT good. =/ BUT, I will see how I feel in the AM.

13.2 this morning :) uncharted territory for me (mentally had to break the half marathon mark) hope your half goes well!

I did my last long run before the Air Force Half on 9/18! A friend from work offered to help me get the last one done, and it was AWESOME. We talked the whole time, so I figured we weren't going too fast, but in the end, we were hitting my race pace! I wish he could come run with me in two weeks. I hope your half went well!

I ran 11 during my FL vacation, sweated like a cow, and chafed in some very unamusing places. Well, my husband found them very amusing. Me? Not so much.

Loving life in Myrtle Beach for the weekend with good friends. Lucky for me it's a taper week, so no super long runs, but will tackle 18 again next weekend!

Hope the race went well. I'm sure you rocked it! No running for me this weekend - looks like I might have a stress fracture in my foot. Yikes! Living vicariously through everyone else's blogs!

We all absolutely need breaks now and then to be able to come back stronger.

Have a great time at the race!

I had a busy but good weekend including two 5-mile runs (one with the hubs!) and an insanely awesome yoga class!
