Good idea! I am going to borrow it sometime.

Something you don't know about me: J was my first boyfriend and I was his first girlfriend. And I knew in the first day of dating that I was going to marry him. This makes for a really good story, but is setting our girls up for dating failure. We will have zero advice to give them. But we can also really stress that they should be like their parents and wait to do the deed until you find "the one." Gosh, that sounds hokey ...

I've been here for a while...so something you may not know about me. I hate sweating (despite the fact that I love running).

I don't know that we've really been "introduced," so I'm Kim and I have been running since 2005. Before that, I never ran at all and would have laughed myself silly if you'd told me I'd ever run a marathon. I run with Jeff Galloways program in Baltimore, where I'm a group leader for my Galloway group.

I've just gotten into cycling, and it has proven to be quite a challenge. Oy!

I've been following a while, or just really recently. Probably haven't ever really introduced myself so here goes..
My name is Kim. I am the mom of 2 great kiddos and the wife to a high school football coach living in the great state of Tennessee. I started running about 2 years ago but didn't keep up with it on a regular basis until about April of 2009 and it has become addicting. I still haven't reached my running goal but am making strides weekly! I try to manage two blogs.. one about my life as a coach's wife and the other about my weight loss/running journey.

Hi! I'm Megan and I'm a WA local. Grew up in Federal Way and now live in Bellingham. I've been getting into triathlons this year and LOVE it! I've been bitten by the tri bug. I do enjoy running only events, but don't really have the want to run a marathon...yet. Besides triathloning (yes, this is a word), I snowboard, hike, work in marketing, date a commercial fisherman, drink delicious microbrews and BLOG.

What a cool idea!
I'm Tracy, a homeschooling mom of 4and my running history has lots of stops and starts.

I was athletic growing up until my junior year when my parents decided moving all over the country as many times as possible in 2 years was a good idea.

I started running again in my early 20's after my first kid and divorce, and then stopped when I married again at 29.

3 more kids and lots more weight later, I started running last year when I turned 40. I realized I wasn't getting any taller - just wider - so I'd better do something about it.

I'm committed to continue if for no other reason than to show my kids they can do anything if they set their mind to it.

A perfect way to get to know your readers. I am Tiffany aka Colorado Mama and I live in Gunnison, Colorado. I have been in Colorado for the last 13 years. I moved here from Kansas City to go to school and never went home. I met my hubby here about 12 years ago and he is the one who originally got me running. He wanted to do the NYC Marathon and so he started training. He did not get in so he gave up running while I kept going. We were married 6 years ago this Sunday and we have 2 daughters, Mikayla is 5 and Lily is 2.5.

I work as a paralegal for a local lawfirm and I normally use my lunch hour to get a run in. I wish I could get 7 miles in like you do on your lunch hour but I don't have enough time. I am a 5 to 6 miles on the lunch run since I am quite a bit slower.

I still have not accomplished a marathon but I hope to get it done this September.

I was a never runner, but played softball and was on the dance team in high school.

I have one awesome little girl (18 months old) and she is who inspires me to run and be more healthy.

I have a blog, but I'm not a great writer. I need to update it, it's been awhile. www.runlikethewindorshufflelikeanoldlady.blogspot.com

What don't you know about me? I am not sure what I have told you but I am guessing many things will be new. My first year as a teacher I taught in Northern Quebec and the closest town was 150 miles south. I loved it! I love winter and lots of snow!

Hello :) I had the pleasure of meeting you briefly in little 'ol South Prairie a few weeks ago. I was so excited about my "Celebrity encounter."

A little bit about me... I have been married for 24 years, I live in Enumclaw, WA, and am a beginner when it comes to running. I recently joined Maple Valley Crossfit and have been working on my general fitness, as well. I really enjoy it!

I am the mom of 2 boys (23 & 21). My stepson and his wife have 5-year-old twins, so I am technically a gramma, too! Now that my boys are older and on their own, it's my turn to do something just for me.

I love dogs!!!

I have been following you for a little bit since I got serious about running this year. Something that you don't know about me is that I am obsessed with gear, stuff you name it. I run in three different pair of running shoes, i have to many workout clothes to name and I love cute socks. Once I take something on I take it on full speed ahead:)
What a great blog idea, I have enjoyed reading what I don't know about other people!

Hi Mel! I am fairly new to the blog world (since April) and have been following you for about that long. I have a little boy who will be 2 in Sept and a hubby who has run 2 Bostons and is currently training for NYC. I have yet to catch the marathon bug, the half is my distance of choice! I was also a former collegiate athlete, but a gymnast where I nearly died when we had to run a mile for conditioning. If you ever told me that I would run 13.1 miles I would have called you crazy!

Thanks for your inspiring words!

I really enjoy your blog! Very inspiring!! You can find me at http://www.runningwithattitude.com/

Hi Mel! My name is Stacy & I am a "renewed" runner who lives not far from you in Sumner. We've chatted on Daily Mile a couple times & I saw you & Janna once on the Orting Trail. Reading everyone's adventures has really inspired me. I ran twice a day in high school & college, then was "too busy" for far too many years. I started back again as a total beginner last November (2009) and have since ran several 5Ks & 2 half marathons, the Rock n Roll Seattle & the Langley Half. I became a Half Fanatic with my second on 7/11/10!! Not sure about a full yet, but have a few more halfs on the calendar! I love having online & on the pavement friends to keep the motivation there! Love reading you running blog, mine is at http://stacyrunsagain.blogspot.com/

Hi Mel...Oz Runner here...although my real name is Dan....you may not know that I am a big college sports fan...especially K-State, and the Big 12 (or what's left of it)....my first child was born on 1-1-01 (New Years Day) and K-State was playing Tennessee in the Cotton Bowl....my wife started having labor pains during the game, and I encouraged her to hang in there until the game was over ( ; It worked out, K-State won the game, and we drove to the hospital to have our first baby...just about the perfect day.

I've been running for about 1-1/2 years, after I got sick of being overweight and tired. Shortly after turning 50 this year, I came in third in my age division in a 6K race! I don't expect to win any races, but I love feeling good!! Training for my first 10K. Mom of a college freshman, library media specialist artist, and runner! That is me. http://vst3in.wordpress.com is my art blog but I am moving to blogspot and creating a new one to add books and running to the mix.

Hi Tall Mom! I just started following your blog a couple months ago. LOVE it :)

I am from Memphis TN where there is a large running community and lots of folks to run with pretty much any time of the day. Fast forward to Feb 2010 move to Naples, FL. Very small town so I started reading running blogs for motivation and inspiration. I have been running since 7th grade (im now 30) as a sprinter and since college as a recreational runner.

However, I am still...quite...slow! I rocked as a sprinter, when anything more than a mile was "long distance". Well, it still feels that way. But running has always kept me sane and healthy so I run (slowly) on.

Thanks for your blogging-
Brandi

I love reading about other people's running experiences, and I especially enjoy yours because you're so positive.

Great idea!!!

Well, my name is Christine and I live in the Washington DC area. I started running about 3 years ago. I used to hate it, but my roommate at the time was running marathons and it kind of inspired me (well first I thought she is crazy getting up at 4:30am daily LOL). After my first 5k I was hooked, even though it was pouring that day and I needed 2 days to recover, it was a great experience! Since then I ran 2 half marathons and I'm currently training for my first marathon. I signed up for the Marine Corps Marathon on Oct 31 in Washington DC!

Hi there! I am 31, a Christian, and a wife and mom of a 19 month old named Emma. I am also a teacher who works with children who have just arrived to this country. Most of my students (elementary age) have come from countries where they were living in refugee camps or were forced to leave due to religious beliefs. I love my job! I have been running most my life for sports but the past 6 years I have been running races. I want to run Boston again but am taking time to love on my family right now. Instead I am running halfs. This past year, although it has been amazing being a mom, has been the hardest year of my life (for reasons other than my daughter) and running has given me an ability to step outside my circumstances. Thank you for your blog and your support. Although my struggles don't have to do with running, the same principles apply to life. Climbing hills suck no matter what but it's great on the way down!!

I'm a recent convert to running. As a mom of 5 kids and a rough two years of marriage, I needed an outlet. Since November, I've lost 40 pounds and I am wearing smaller clothes than before I was married, 13 years ago. Also, I am 6'0" ... another tall mom! =)

Hi Mel!
I'm Brandi and I live in Southeast Alaska. Seattle is my second home. My brother is a pilot for Horizon Air and since he and my sis live in that area, I'm there often thanks to his flight benefits! I started running at the end of 2009. Running has helped me in so many ways I can't even believe it. I've lost weight, it helped me workout my anger and pain from my divorce, it made me feel strong and capable and like I'm a great role model for my 2 girls. I'm going to be 32 in September and have never felt this good about myself. I love the running blogs and yours is so inspiring. I ran the Seattle Rock N Roll Half this year and have to admit I was a little intimidated by all you awesome running bloggers and didn't sign up for the bloggy meet up. If there is another meet up for next year, sign me up! Thanks for the great bloggy reading!

I am a CPA but am changing careers soon - I'm starting grad school next month to follow my passion & become a speech pathologist. I lost 40 pounds a few years ago through healthy, gradual changes. I'm still 25 above my "healthy" BMI, but my body seems to like it here. Training for my 3rd half marathon! I'm slow, but I"m moving! Thanks for the inspiration!
