After taking a week off from running I was feeling GUILTY so I wanted to hit double digits. I sent out a Facebook buddy plea, but alas no one could join me for a 10 miler. So I headed to my favorite trail hoping that the good location would help me along.. I started out FAST and it felt amazing, I want to get 5K ready ASAP. I passed by people on very strange standing up 3 wheeled bikes, it looked like a WORKOUT!
I started to get tired, like my whole body had been zapped. I had run a Marathon 9 days earlier, maybe that was it? I was beating myself up inside and TRYING to go FAST! I wore my arm sleeves and dropped them at my car as I went past, the weather has been cool in WA. Back on the trail I was gaining on 3 kiddos on bikes, they looked back as me as I got closer. The taller girl talked to the little guy and they both looked back at me. Then like a bullet they hit the pedals, guess they did not want to get passed by an OLD lady on foot. I SMILED love the competitive spirit!!
10 miles did not seem possible, so I turned letting 7 be enough for the day. I am disappointed but I do not feel like pushing past exhaustion, that is when injuries happen.
And what was Muscle Man doing while I was running?
Finishing our Patio, which I LOVE!!! He used pavers and did an amazing job. It is so nice to have a finished back yard.
