Laughs and Cake

Wow I missed Tuesday, where did it go?? Well, I was SWAMPED at work and knew that I NEEDED to get off at 4:00 to make it home to host Tall Grandma's Birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY (yesterday) MOM!! Our new house is less than 3 miles from my parents which is AWESOME!!

REWIND:
The lunch hour came and AC was ready to run. It is always fun to run with AC, he tells great semi-true stories and we laugh pretty much the whole run. The pace was pretty slow, but the belly laughs gave me a good workout. It was nice to have a partner through the SPOOKY WOODS. We finished with 4 miles and a good sweat.

My work day flew by and I barely made a dent in my "To Do" list but I had to get home. Tall Grandma and Grandpa were bringing Teriyaki Takeout and Muscle Man made a cake. Tall Sister and Tall Nephew also came over so the Little Studs were in Heaven. We had a nice meal, gave Grandma her presents, and relaxed! Out new house is great for having guests over.

Muscle Man is the birthday cake maker and he did not disappoint, I don't like chocolate cake but this cake was GOOD!! Thanks Honey! We all enjoyed the dessert then the fam headed home.

FAST FORWARD:
After the cake and ice cream we were feeling a little over-stuffed. At 8:15PM we loaded the Little Studs in the jogger and headed out. Running at dusk is beautiful, the moon was out and the sun was starting to set with bright orange rays across the sky. AMAZING! We did a 2 mile loop and were home for baths.

6 GREAT miles for the day

  • Do you have a running partner who makes you laugh? Tell me about him/her?
  • What do you do to work off your cake?
HAPPY WEDNESDAY!!

Sounds like you had a great yesterday. How nice to celebrate birthdays together.

I love that you guys went for a moon-lit jog with the kiddos. Yeah for double days!!

I try to get the extended fam to walk after extra big meals together (since I am the only runner) sometimes it works. I usually run that stuffed feeling off too. But sometimes I indulge in the guilty pleasure (?) of vegging on the couch and watching a movie after an over filling meal (I'm guilty of this more in the winter time!). There is something to be said for a hearty meal followed by snuggling in with family.

haha! I haven't blogged since January! so missing one day is not bad in my eyes ;) When my boyfriend isn't in baseball or softball season he runs with me... he makes me laugh and when i start feeling like i can't go any further mentally he keeps pushing me and telling me i can... its great! Also... to work of the cake (I just had a birthday on July 14th)... I eat more cake! haha ;) just kidding lol...

I'm a pretty sad case of a runner! My partner is usually the treadmill. LOL Go ahead, laugh away. ;) Working off the cake?? I try to avoid cake but when I do have it i work the slither off by a few miles on the treadmill with some kettlebells after wards or a good elliptical workout.

I love that I'm honestly excited that I can now reach Tall-Mom-Lunch-Run mileage. Yayyyyy! That's been a huge (secret) goal of mine. :)

I don't run with friends. I wish I did. I've been running with podcasts lately, and find myself laughing or talking back to the interview out loud. Whoops!

Generally speaking, I don't eat cake; there are just too many dietary concerns that follow. If it's really deep chocolate, though, I might be into it!

I find that eating properly from day to day means that I don't worry about working off the extra calories from things like birthday cake. It doesn't mean that I don't feel guilty, though. And, if it's chocolate cake, it's sinfully guilty:)

Hahaha working off the cake....that's exactly how I feel when I indulge even a little especially since I'm miss "running it off". Today's indulge was peanut butter cookies for a mid morning snack (I must remember to bring healthy snacks to work) and I copied hubby with a frozen mocha cappuccino at lunch. Since I run in the morning, tonight I can not skip my 45 min muscle building workout DVD. That frozen cap and cookie are motivators for sure. ;)

I had cupcake (okay, cupcakeS) for my son's birthday yesterday. How am I burning it off?? I believe the class is called "Booty busting spin and sweat!!" I'm spinning!! Yay for cross training. I refuse to let running be my "punishment" for lives indiscretions!

I can't get past the "I don't like chocolate cake." Oh I would weigh so much less if that was true. Naa. I would have just eaten something else.

My husband. I love running with my husband. He makes me laugh, he makes me groan, he makes me grit my teeth in anger and shoot lasers out my eyes at the back of his head. But I love it. =o)

running at dusk is soooo beautiful!!!! You already know who my running partner is :-) and yes he makes me laugh! When we get "mad" at each other (never anything serious) while running, we always take our hand held water and spray each other int he face with it. :-P

What a great day, I always have trouble running after dinner, maybe that should be a hint that I eat too much!

My running/training partner is amazing and SO inspiring, her motivation is crazy, I wish I had a shred of it!

Sounds like a busy but GREAT Tuesday!!

There are a few people who I run with that keep me laughing. There are always stories to share, teasing in fun and all that good stuff. Makes those miles fly by!
