T I R E D

Tall Mom is TIRED!!! I blame Little Stud #2 and the Biggest Loser Finale..

Yesterday I had a GREAT 10K lunch run, despite my foggy head and heavy legs. I was beginning to think that I left my 8:XX miles in Eugene, it was nice to find my speed again. The rain is constant here the last few days. It is muggy and warm, I wore short sleeves making the light drizzle refreshing. My knees are creaky but after 2 miles I hit my stride. It is WEIRD to me that I still feel the affects of a Marathon that was over 20 days ago. WOW!!! I guess I did leave it all on the pavement.

This weekend is a holiday for us....which means that people are making plans. I am thinking that I need to REST!!! I need to catch up on sleep and find my energy again. As fun as heading to the woods and venturing to new lands sounds..

Long Run + Couch + yard projects= :)

  • What are your plans for the long Weekend?
HAPPY WEDNESDAY!

No big plans this weekend, but that couch you speak, sounds like a great place to be.

Drive to Virgina for part of the weekend and then back to PA for a pre-pre-pre school graduation for LBM and picnicing with the extended family! Somewhere in there I know I will be squeezing in some miles at the new house to check out the routes! Super excited for it all.

...and the couch will be part of it too and a comfy chair around the bon-fire!

Ugh I want to do anything to get OFF the couch. Hoping for mental rest and time with the fam.

Good to know that there is hope for me to get some speed back in a few weeks. I feel so exhausted right now!

We already had our long weekend... Saturday and Sunday were busy with family & friend get-togethers, but we reserved Monday to stay at home and that was FANTASTIC! We even jumped through the sprinkler in the backyard!

it's probably not just the marathon you're still feeling but also all the training. you put in months of hard work, it takes its toll.

my wknd it too freaking busy. i want to shoot myself.

I just want to lay in bed, in my jammies and rest. I feel like I could use some sleep.

What a cute picture! I, too, am a bit tired today. I think it's because I have been up late watching basketball/baseball this week!

Great picture! Long run on Saturday and a nice hilly ride on Sunday. I will be watching UFC on Saturday night...but you probably don't care about that.

I have a new giveaway!!!!

Ahhh. He is a cutie!!! Have a fabulously relaxing and restful weekend. I am going to try to get in some runs and perhaps a swim as well.

I *wish* I had a BQ to blame my tiredness on! Sounds like you definitely need to schedule in some down time this weekend. No major plans for this weekend for us. After racing and traveling 3/4 weekends in April and May...I'm ready for a break!

The rest sounds well deserved!

This is EXACTLY how I felt this morning!!! This weekend I am headed to Cape Cod to run a half marathon! Still trying to break that 2 hour mark!!!

Lisa said...

but not only did you run a marathon, but you also moved that same week! Both are huge, exhausting things on their own! You definitely deserve a good rest!

We don't have any big plans. We're going home the next weekend for a wedding and then our cottage for a week!

Glad to hear I'm not the only one whose legs are still not back to normal!

Enjoy the long weekend and some extra rest!

I read somewhere that a day per mile to fully recover...so i think you're right where you should be. Good job with the lunch run!

Um, I think you deserve a little rest! LOL! Oh, and love the house (I'm catching up and saw your earlier post)!

I think you weekend plans sound great! I read somewhere that to get full recovery from a race it takes the same amount of days as miles ran (so if you ran 26.2 miles, it would take 26 days to fully recover). I hope that makes sense! :)

This weekend I have a long run, long bike, and an open water swim planned! Gotta love tri training! :)

And why is it that when we are tired, our kiddos are not but, when they are tired, we have things to do?

Enjoy the long weekend. Ours was last weekend. Race coming up on Sunday - yippee!
