We sell CEP socks at the store, and I love that they have such hardcore university testing behind the technology of the pressure.

My racing schedule includes RNR San Diego in 2 weeks (the full marathon if my legs can take another one) and then potentially the ET midnight madness marathon on August 21 - nighttime is the perfect time to run here in the desert!

RunningLaur said...

As for how I keep my legs fresh while I'm training? I'm not doing so great at that right now - I can say that running a first marathon and then a first ultra marathon all within a week does not make for the freshest legs. An ice bath post race helps my legs immensely and I tend to wear compression socks to work when I have to pull a full shift after particularly hard or long runs - which happens all too often!

and you've been tweeted about!

I really like the white/orange socks!

compression socks would be perfect for my shin-splint-prone legs!

i think cep's website is pretty organized. i like that they have testimonials on their socks, haha. i had no idea that compression socks could do so much...speed recovery? boost energy? yes please! it's nice that you can use their products for practically any sport/outdoor activity. i would definitely buy me some running compression socks if i didn't win them here :)

swirlycinnacakes said...

i'm going to be running my last season of college xc this fall...it's hard to believe! i'm not too sure of our racing schedule yet, but we typically have our first race mid-september and then have races about every week or every other week. after the state meet in october, only those that qualify go on to later races.

so, i'll just be training and building mileage from now until august. trying to incorporate x-training and lifting too!

swirlycinnacakes said...

as for keeping my legs fresh...i don't really do anything special besides stretch and could probably use some pointers myself!

I like the idea of the running socks – anything to help speed up recovery time right! And I much prefer the O2 ones because, well, I like the colours :D

Katie @ www.princessofpavement.com said...

The only race I'm currently signed up for right now is on Sunday, a charity 10k race for Canuck Place, a hospice for terminally-ill kids in Vancouver, BC, Canada. But I'm going to be starting training for my first marathon in the fall, so I'm thinking that's probably going to be taking up a LOT of my time through the summer.

Katie @ www.princessofpavement.com said...

How do I keep my legs fresh? I like to torture myself, like other runners, with an ice bath ... horrible hopping in, but once your legs go numb, it's not so bad ;)

Compression sleeves - now that's new to me. I'm still trying to get my hands on a pair of compression socks!
I like the site; it's easy to get around.

Cynthia O'H said...

Currently, I am registered for:

5K May 29th, Toronto
5K -June 6th, Mississauga

I'm hoping to run Nissan 10 Miler (love the distance) on July 11.

And, if things go well, we're looking at a late summer marathon.

Cynthia O'H said...

Shaving = makes my legs feel great every time!

Candice @ I Have Run said...

I am curious about the sleeves, but I really want a pair of their socks. I like how much info you get the moment you get to their site!

Candice @ I Have Run said...

I am running the Utah Valley Half Marathon on June 12 and the Hobble Creek Half Marathon on August 21st! There might be some smaller races in there but just not solidified yet.

Candice @ I Have Run said...

I take glucosamine for my knees, ice my calves in a bucket of ice water, foam roll and stretch, and take ibuprofen when necessary. I am curious about what everyone else does though because my calves hurt a lot lately, no matter what I do!

I love compression socks, but haven't tried this brand. I love the pink ones. One question -- do they get really sweaty, or do they wick well? Also, are they reflective?

I have been dying for a pair of the pink compression socks. My calves always feel so tight and swollen after a long run, but I've just never been able to bring myself to come off the money to buy a pair.

Pam said...

I don't have any races on the schedule between now and August, but there are forever local 5Ks popping up here and there, and I'm sure I'll be running in some of those. My next scheduled race is the 2nd annual Clarksville HM on 10/30, then after that it's RnR Vegas in December!

run said...

i'd love to try out their compression socks/sleeves to compare with the zensah ones I have now.

The only event I have coming up is doing the Canadian Death Race as part of a relay. I might do some shorter local races in the meantime.

run said...

And to keep my legs fresh, I take at least 1 day completely off (no running or biking) a week. If i can muster up the motivation, I go for an easy swim. The water always feel good on my legs.

I like to shave my legs, and use lotions too keep them fresh. But also Ice packs and stretching are key to helping my legs after a run!

I've been looking at different compression socks and I really like the CEPs, particularly because of that awesome PINK. :-) The website is pretty easy to navigate, but what I'd really like to see is a "compare" button. There didn't seem to be much difference in the description of the 02 socks and the progression socks.
