Doing the Dishes

Wow oh wow 500 Followers!!! What a FUN surprise and a great cap to an amazing vacation and Mother's Day Weekend. Welcome New Tall Mom Bloggy Pack Members.

While doing the dishes yesterday I felt BLESSED. Just look at the view outside our kitchen window.
Yes, Mount Rainier and all the glory. LOVE IT!! We have settled into our new home and it is PERFECT. This week I am back to my Big Girl job and back to Marathon training. Next up? Seattle Rock N Roll Marathon on June 26th where I will attempt to pace Amanda, Marlene and anyone who wants to come for the ride, to a sub 4 hour performance.

To be honest I am not feeling ready to get back to the swing of training. My legs are TIRED and I need to rest. I left everything I had in Eugene and it will take a while to get that energy and drive back. Not one to make excuses, I will take a couple days off, then rewind my plan and start again.

  • Since I have been without Internet and not roaming/commenting in Blog Town I am off to get caught up... Please leave me a comment if I have missed out on something BIG on your Blog, I will stop in and say Hi.

HAPPY MONDAY !!

I'm glad life has settled down for you after the big move! I'm running the Rock 'n' Roll. I'm trying for a 4 hour, though it might be a bit ambitious since it'll be my first marathon. We'll see!

What an amazing view from kitchen window, that could get me to like doing dishes. Mine looks on Greenbelt, so it could be worse, we are far enough from Mt. Rainier we only get a view on a perfectly clear day from the deck, no windows face that way (silly builder!)

Good luck getting back into the swing of things, that can be a challenge.

good luck getting back into a routine. and totally take some time off of training: you worked you butt off and race an amazing race! it's still the time to bask in that glow :)

Oh, wow! That is a beautiful view. I don't even have a kitchen window, and if I did, it wouldn't look out on anything that impressive.

What a view! Hope your first day back at work is going okay.

So looking forward to Seattle! Make sure you give yourself the time you need to recover. A couple of long runs and you'll be good to go.

What an amazing view!!! One of my best friends lives in Seattle and keeps trying to get me to visit. Only thing is he's not very athletic and wouldn't want to hike with me.

What you may have missed (in one of your newer follower's world), I'm having a trail running gaiter giveaway Dirty Girl Gaiters Giveaway

Just figured I would let someone with lots of followers know so that people find the little guy ;)

I really enjoy reading your blog :)

You're running another next month? Wow, that's impressive. Enjoy a few days off to recoup. I'm sure once you're back to the running thing you'll be motivated and back on track!

500! Wow that is a lot of followers to keep up with. Ekk! You go girl!

I am jealous of you view. Do you have neighbors near by or are you in a "rural-ish" area now?

Enjoy a bit of a running break before you gear up to pace your friends in June. That will be here before you know it!

wow, that view is amazing, you are truly lucky!

btw, I just posted a review of Run Like A Mother, so I linked it to your giveaway! good timing!

Gorgeous gorgeous. I can relate to what you said about leaving everything in Eugene. After yesterday's marathon I think it will take a bit for me to get back into things. I had such momentum while training and then it all peaked with the race and meeting my goal. Now I feel like I am just floating with no desire to run...yet.

If I had that kind of view from my kitchen, I wouldn't mind doing dishes! Glad to hear things are starting to calm down!

I need pictures please! I want to see the house. Maybe I need to stop by for a visit so I can see it. Love the view. The drive to work must be sooooo much better.

Alisa said...

You deserve some time off. Isn't the rule something like 1 day for every mile you ran, so technically you've banked like a month.

aron said...

make sure you are taking time to recover from that smoking marathon you just ran! after my BQ i took 10 days completely off and slowly started back into it. taking a couple extra days now will only make you stronger and mentally ready to get back into it for the june race. PLUS you just moved - yikes i would be tired too!

Girl, you need and deserve a break. Take the time you need... Training can wait

Ok, I'm officially jealous of the view from your window. All I can see from mine are a few trees and some powerlines.

Don't feel bad about taking time off from running after your marathon - you gave it your all, and your body needs to rest!

i might have to join you for the sub 4 pace group! Would love to finish under 4. Congrats on your BQ!
