3 Things Thursday

There was one card in the mail box last night. The return address was for SBS. Who is SBS? Check out the "Run Like a Mother" page HERE. I ripped into the card while strolling down the sidewalk. Sarah sent me a card to congratulate me on qualifying for Boston at Eugene. I love love cards and this put a huge smile on my face. Thanks Sarah!! Sarah is an author and inspires me to WRITE, someday I would love to have a book published, even if it is a kids book, and Sarah gives me hope.

3 Things Thursday:

1. I banked some overtime last week so I am cashing it in today for a DAY OFF!! Yippers! So what do I have planned for today? NOTHING!!! Of course I can never really do nothing. This morning I am meeting Janna for a 5-7 mile run in BEAUTIFUL Bonney Lake. Janna qualified for Boston last weekend and I am excited to hear her Marathon story. It is raining but I am not scared. I may try to join Jill HERE for the end of her 23 miler, but that is still TBD. Jill?

2. Muscle Man has been working so hard on the new house. He taught himself how to build a fence and it is 3/4 done. He AMAZES me!! There is nothing he cant do. We have saved countless amount of money through his handy work. Our blinds came in so between putting up fence posts, he will attach the blinds. I am convinced he never sits. So today I will help out around the house as best I can to give him a little rest. I am planning to take some pictures and give you a little tour of the house, so look for that soon.

3. I NEED new clothes. I have lost inches and my work pants don't fit right. The pairs I do have need to go to the cleaners. I have to dress up for work so having clean slacks that fit is important. I am in luck Marshalls is less than a mile from my house. So I will head for a quick shopping trip while Little Stud #2 naps. Also in close vicinity Target, WalMart, Fred Meyer and Goodwill. Think I may be able to power shop and find something in the 2 hours he is dozing.

  • What do you do with an unexpected mid-week day off?

HAPPY THURSDAY!!!

I can't wait to see pictures of the house!!! It is always fun to see where people live and the area around them :) I love doing things around the house too to save some money. My husband and I are learning all kinds of wonderful things!

Glad you have some time off! Sometimes I use "extra" time to just relax. Yesterday, I went into NY and met my daughter for lunch, did some shopping with her, and then we met my husband for dinner. So fun!

If I get a day off during the week, which happens occasionally, I sleep in, exercise, run errands, and try to relax. :-) Hope you had a good one!

HOpe you have a fun day off! Can't wait to see the pics of the new house. Yay, for needing new clothes because you are so SKINNY! Have a great day!

There's something SO AWESOME about running while knowing your co-workers are at their desks. (*evil cackle here*)

Along w/ exercising in the AM & doing a Target run, I love going for a walk around 3:30. That's about the time I usually get ancy at work - and I feel so FREE when I am outside instead of in the cubefarm.

random days off are the best!! actually I sort of do little things weekly that make me feel like I have the day off since I work from home :)

Skinny minnie just running right out of your clothes!

I would do the same as you, lol! Run and shop. Maybe sneak in a nap...

On another note, I have my first 10k on Saturday, for your High 5 Friday. It is the Ripley Rock n Run! I am nervous!

Thanks: )

i would love to say that i'd cut down on my to-do list and be wicked productive. but the reality is that i'd likely squander the day by watching trash tv and surfing the internet!

The only time I get an unexpected mid-week day off is when we are in a winter storm warning/blizzard and the schools are shut-down... or flooding. lol. And with blizzards, I have a hard time leaving my house. lol. I usually end up baking.

I usually run, clean, and eat a meal that no one else in the house likes LOL, but my day off means my kids aren't with me since my "work days" are home with the kids. ;o)

Enjoy your day!

Cards are the best!! Its hard not to keep them all :)

Good luck with the shopping. Not my favorite thing to do. I can never find what I want when I need to. Its like some unwritten law!

Sweet! An extra day off. Enjoy the skinny clothes shopping.

I am looking forward to your tour of the new place.

A day off? Between work and kids and hubbs and house, I don't even know what that is anymore. I think I would be so unfamiliar with the opportunity I would waste it simply sitting in sheer amazement of the quietness.

I'm a SAHM so I don't really have days off ever LOL but tomorrow I am having a friend watch the kids in the morning for me. But it's not for anything fun but instead I get to sit in the dentist's chair all morning & get some work done (including a root canal ouch). BUT it's kind of fun bc we don't have cable so I get to watch tv all morning (no kid shows even!)
