Race Day is coming...I have been in TEST mode to find the perfect race day outfit. What defines the perfect Marathon Race Day outfit to Tall Mom?
1. Comfort= The clothing should fit tight to avoid chaffing. I should not have to pull the pants up or the shirt down at any point during the race.
2. Ready for any weather= The clothing should help me to stay warm if needed but also keep me cool. Being too cold or overheating could be a race disaster.
4. Itch Free= I am an itchy girl, presumably from being so sweaty and having the sweat dry. My clothes should help alleviate the itching as much as possible.
5. Easy to Spot= At 6'0 I am pretty easy to find in a crowd, but to help out Muscle Man and any other AWESOME spectators, I like to have bright colors. And bright colors and prints are FUN!!
WHAT WILL I WEAR in Eugene??
You get a vote, below are my options. Leave a comment to vote and you will be entered to win a PRIZE. The only thing I know for sure is I will wear the grey Brooks EZ Run T (Buy HERE).
Bondiband, Brooks EZ T, Moeben butterfly sleeves, and Nike Capris.
26.2 Bondiband, Brooks EZ Run T, Green-Layer arm Sleeves, and Nike Capris.
Run Like a Mother Hat, Brooks EZ Run T, Smartwool arm sleeves and Nike Capris.
New Balance Cure Hat, Brooks EZ Run T, Moeben Pink Sleeves and Running Skirts Capri skirt.
Brooks hat, Brooks EZ Run T, Smartwool sleeves, and Running Skirt Capri skirt.

I have a shirt very similar to th brooks shirt that I love! It's so comfortable! The only problem I have with it is after a long run I get pit stains since it's a dark color. Do you have that problem with the EZ run shirt? I don't want to raise my fists in victory over the finish line of the Rock 'n' Roll and have my picture snapped with pit stains!
I love outfit #4!
I vote #2 you look speedy and Bada**!
Is it too boring to vote #1?
I vote #4, it has the most pink :)
I vote #4!
#4!!!!!!!!
You have so much FUN running gear-- I'm a bit envious ;)
Looks like it will be Sunny on Sunday but cool in the AM - like 38f! You may need those arm sleeve thingys : )
PS.
I'm heading over to Dicks today to get a new colorful tech shirt.
Because...
We will be viewed live on the JUMBOTRON near the finish line!!!
I like #4!
#4 with the pink hat is fun & springy!!
I like #4!! But, I also like #2. You've got a tough choice!! I can't wait to hear how it goes! I bet you'll totally rock it and BQ. Will we be able to follow you online?
Well you know what I'll say...u must wear the butterfly sleeves!! That's my vote, anything as long as u wear the butterfly sleeves!!!
its too bad that running skirt is already attached to the pink capris. I would've voted for the skirt + nike capris, butterfly sleeves, Brooks T, and the "run like a mother" hat.
Put on all your running bling. Bracelet, anklet, necklace. Maybe when the sun reflects off it, it'll blind some of the other runners and give you an advantage! LOL j/k
#3 definitely! stands out more thand black and grey!
I like Outfit No. 1. I like the butterfly sleeves but then again butterflies are a favorite of mine.
i like the 26.2 headband!!!!!!!!! i vote for outfit #2. black is bada$$$$$$$$$$$$$!!!!!! :)
#2 - This is the redemption marathon - you want to look tough.
I cannot run in anything other than brooks running shorts :)
I like #1 the best because of the butterfly sleeves.
How many days will U be running????? Ha, that's a lot of gear.... For the visual effect, I vote #4! I'm 6'4" and still hard to find in a crowd......
DD votes for #1 because she loves butterflies. I like #4 - seems like it will be easier to find you in the pink. GL!!!
i like #1.
You are seriously so cute.
#1 or #3.
Or #3 with the #1 headband.
I have my first ever marathon this coming Sunday and shall be dressed in my finest thrift store cast offs, as usual. Right now my main concern is finding some sort of long-sleeve shirt that I can dispose of at or near the start of the race. Sometimes I run in short-sleeve dress shirts, perhaps a long sleeve version is in order?
Good luck in Eugene! Thanks for the bloggings, I dig it.
I vote #2!!
I vote for the first one! I think that the headbands are most flattering when they don't have text on them :)
My biggest problem for my race day outfit is that I'm traveling across the country and the weather could range from 20F to 90F, dry, rain, or humid. Fingers crossed for smart packing!
I totally vote #4! I love the RunningSkirts company! Good luck! You're such an inspiration!
My first vote is #4, so cute! Second choice is #3, love this outfit, too! It is so hard choosing the right clothes, they can make or break the race! Good luck! The one thing I cannot run without is my hand-held water bottle. It is my security blanket!
I vote for #4, mainly cause I love pink!
On race days I can't do without my Nike drifit running cap and my Nike drifit running skirt. I usually layer a couple of shirts for the chilly starts.
GOOD LUCK!
I vote for #4. I love the Brooks EZ T and will be wearing a pink one (probably) for the Frederick Marathon on Sunday. Do you really find that any of your apparel helps alleviate the itching? I have the same problem post-run, and it drives me crazy.
I vote #4! It's springy and cute!
#4 will be easy to spot (and super fun!)
They are all cute but #2 just makes you look FAST and Bad A!!!!!! So I vote #2!!
#4!! I love that skirt and I do love pink too!
#4 I'm in love with those arm sleeves!
I like #3 :)
#4 for sure! You say you like color...lol Easier to spot and its hard to have a bad day when you are wearing pink :)
Whatever else you wear, you MUST wear the capri skirt. It looks awesome on you.
I always wear a hat. I can not stand having my hair in my face at all and I have short hair.
Good luck figuring out your outfit!
Definitely #1. I love the butterfly sleeves!
#4! :)
Definitely #4. Can't go wrong with PINK :)
I vote #1 or #4! I understand the whole perfect outfit thing...I swear, if I don't feel 100% comfortable, it will bug me the WHOLE race! I LOVE my Adidas black capris...they are the perfect fit! Good Luck girl!
Wow, I really want to get some arm warmers!
I vote #1... it's cute but still FIERCE :)
I also vote for #1... it's FUN and just you.
#2 and 3 are a little too much black for colorful Mel.
And I'd vote Bondi Band over hat since I *think* you have completed the majority of your long runs in the BB's.
I vote for...oh 1 or 4...1 or 4...it's not even my race and I have trouble picking!
I think # 4 will be the most easy to spot. (those butterflies are just so cute on #1 but...)
Go with what you know will help you feel the best on race day. all of them look GREAT! Which one makes you feel like a marathon goal crusher??? Wear that one!
HOW EXCITING that you are packing your race bag!!!
Really sorry about the jeep and I was glad to read on FB that this will be your last day working!
Good luck with EVERYTHING!
my vote is for # FOUR! best wishes to you, MEL!!!!!
#3 will definitely make you stand out for Muscle Man to see you!
Good luck with your last few training runs!
I am torn between 3 and 4, not much of a pink person myself, but from what I have seen and read here you are so I say go with 4, you will stand out, I like 3 but it stands out less, so yes 4!
Sucks about the Jeep. Is the whole family headed down to Eugene?
I'm voting for #3! I love those armbands, and I may need a pair myself!
I'm glad to see the forecast is back down to 59 degrees for Sunday...I'd been watching the 10-day forecast (which said 75 degrees! ugh!) and worrying about my tank top/shorts comfort and the possibility of overheating. I don't do well in warm weather!
i like #3 the most :) i love the black and gray - looks more serious runner ;) and i am a hat girl so i vote for hat! keeps the sun out of your eyes if its sunny or the rain out of your eyes if its raining.
Obviously #4. You look so freaking cute!
I like #2
Good luck in Eugene!
I like #3 the best although I love the moeben butterfly arm sleeves!
#3, love the running skirt!
My vote is for #1 - love the butterfly arm sleeves!
I vote for all the pink!!! Love it!
I like #1. Cute butterfly sleeves! Good luck in Eugene, can't wait to hear about it.
Carolyn
i love outfit #4. Good luck this weekend!
I like #1 for sure!
okay #1, no wait #2, hold on maybe #4. Well heck you are just to darn cute I can't decide it's to much pressure. whateva you choose you will rock your race and look amazing doing it. :) Good Luck with the move and race. Sending positive vibes for a smooth move and run your way.
I thought number 3 was the best - you looked too cute in it and with all that pink muscle man can't miss you!
I cannot run without my garmin - no way no how.
I like simple (but not always) so I would go with #3! Good Luck
#4
And I have to have a hat :)
My vote is #4
#1 - the butterflies are so super cute plus you'll be easily spotted with a red bondi band.
#4!!
The pink is very bright and fun, and of course you know I love that skirt on you!! Plus, since you are racing for the cure, it makes total sense. AND it's eye catching! Goooooo Tall Mom!
outfit #4 for sure
My vote is for #1. You love bondibands and haven't been wearing caps all that often, if I'm remembering correctly, so the hat might end up annoying you when you're 20 miles in. #2 is cool too, but #1 will stand out more.
My must-have race day item is a hat. Definitely. Oh, and shoes and good socks! haha!
Good luck with everything this week!
I like outfit #1. Good luck!
i vote for #1 or #2.
I'm going with #2!!! You go, girl!
Sorry about the Jeep. Definitely #2. That outfit makes you look tough! I have to run in my balega socks! Love them!
Number 1!!!! You look unstoppable!
Will you wear the sleeves? I would love for you to do a review on sleeves? They are so stinking cute. Also love the NIKE pants. I think that is my next purchase....what are they called?
OOOOOPPPPPSSS!! Sorry that last comment was from me, forgot to log my hubby out. I vote for one (again).
I vote #5. I love all of it tog. Saw someone in running skirt with capris last weekend and I loved it! Good luck.
I can't be without my running hat which I am starting to get quite a collection of. Last weekend I wore my Lulu one which has a key pocket for when I go to races alone!!
#4!!
I'm going to vote for #2. Just because I like simple.... BUT maybe to add color I'd do the bright headband with it.
I like option 4 . . . so cute with the skirt and all of the pink. But unless you always run in a hat - I would switch it out with a bondi band. ;-)
#1 for sure! The red bondiband is easy to spot and the butterfly sleeves are my fav!
Since I have never run in a skirt dont know how that would work but I like #1 and #3. They both look very comfortable, decently easy to spot. Maybe wear the pink capris instead of the black ones!
I like #1. I just ordered that shirt in the sunset color and can't wait to get it!
My vote is for #4 :)!
I vote #4
It is happy and adorable just like you! I got my prize and your cute card in the mail!! It totally made my day and my kids stole all the magnets :) Thank you...
I am so excited for Eugene for you! You are such a rockstar....go mel go!
I know you'll probably hate this, but I would make a new combo: Brooks shirt, Nike Capris, pink arm warmers, and pink hat! But, I think I like #2 the best! :)
Good luck, good luck, good luck! :)
Go for the capri skirt. It is lightweight and super comfy.
I have to have my sunglasses when I run. And, my puffer must be close by - just in case.
#4 #4 #4 !!!!!
I also love #4. Congratulations on the house!
I vote #1 but with the Run Like a Mother hat. The sloral sleeves are really cute. I just can't get myself to like running skirts I'm afraid.
I vote for #1 and then #5 is second.
I'm a new runner so at this point the only gear I can't run w/o is shoes and clothes. :)
Love them ALL. You're gonna look GOOD, girl!
I'm having a helluva time trying to figure out what to wear for my first tri at the end of the month. It's all very confusing...
#1 or #4.
Have fun!
I think #1 with that red (it looks red, maybe pink?) bondiband will be easiest to spot you. BUT I love that print skirt. Any way to wear them together??
The only thing I can't run without (right now) is shoes and a good bra.
i love out fit #4 :)
Wow, you look so cute in all of those outfits!!!! I wish I could pull off the spandex like you do.;)
I like #4. It's colorful.
