Faster than the Rain?

My blog reading list has disappeared....and I did not have time to pull together Test Lab Tuesday... Wow just Tuesday and I am behind already :)

Yesterday I set out with the goal of sub 8's for 5 miles. There was a DARK cloud to the East....and I did not have my hat. Hmmmmm..could I possibly run faster than the rain?? As I ran I decided to aim for negative splits. I wore the spandex shorts from my Marathon last June, apparently I have lost inches because the shorts were WAY TOO BIG!! Funny how you can lose inches without losing weight. Anyhow the shorts were a PAIN the entire time.

I am still trying to determine the perfect race day outfit. Will try to get a belated Test Lab Tuesday tonight to show you my choices..

So how did I do??

1- 8:13 (fussing with my shorts)
2- 7:53
3- 7:48
4- 7:36
5- 7:25
7:47 overall pace!!!

Zero soreness, YIPPERS!

I did not beat the rain, Mother Nature poured on me the last mile. The kind of rain that makes puddles instantly. Thankfully the last mile was my fastest, but I still sported the drowned rat look the rest of the day. Running on the lunch hour is not always pretty..but I got it DONE!!!

Wishing you all a LOVELY TUESDAY!!!

I have a pair of pants that have the same problem - they're too big and I fuss with them when I run in them. I never learn, I always forget and run in them anyway.

Whoo hoo! What a run lady! Very, very cool! I hate when your clothing/shoes/gear gives you trouble while running - it's the pits!
Have a wonderful Tuesday buddy!

I love your dedication, Mel! I don't think I'd run if I had to do it in the rain all the time.

Darn it, I'm still waiting for it to warm up enough here to test my race day outfit! Was going to do that last weekend and then it was 37 when we started...not exactly race day outfit weather. Hope your test runs go well. :)

nicely done fast lady! Running in the rain is wonderful when you want to, but not so much when you have to go back to work :)

I think that same rain nailed me:(

Question for you and your followers (I'm posting this on all the running blogs I follow) I am deathly allergic to bees (read die in about 3 minutes) now that its spring I need to start carrying my epipen with me does anyone have suggestions of how to do this? I currently run with my iphone and the case isn't big enough for both. What cases to people recomend, I saw some epi pen holders for legs but I'm not sure I'd be happy running with something on my leg. Any help greatly appreciated especially from those who already carry one.

Running in the rain can be fun, but you're right... at lunch time, when you're already fussing with shorts that too big! Great job getting it done! :)

I'm curious - have you ever tried a running skort? That's all I ever wear. ;)
