3 Things Thursday

Since I have only 3 minutes to rub together today...I am going to use my favorite Redheads format.

3 Things Thursday:

1. I FINALLY ran yesterday. Not fast and I did not have my Garmin so I am unsure of the distance. After dinner Muscle Man and I pushed the kiddos for about 4 miles. I COUGHED and COUGHED, it was gross! My legs felt strong but my respiratory system was hurting. I am glad that I was able to get any miles in as I am STRESSING about missing training runs. My training has been derailed since my business trip and this sickness. I only hope I can get back on track so that my BQ dreams can become reality.

2. Wow oh wow thank you for the Blogiversary Wishes and the support to Marathon for the Cure. With the help of YOU, friends, family and Co-workers yesterday alone $174.66 was raised for Susan G. Komen. This puts me at 74% and only $396.34 to raise. Hugs to Heather, Stacie, my in-laws, my boss, TMB, Aron, Bethany, Alicia and Marlene!!

3. Meet Penelope the Porcupine. She lives near a cabin high atop the snowy mountains and snacks on food scraps from passers by. I met her while in Colorado and it was a highlight of the trip. Can you believe that people have actually tried to pet her??

**Only a few more sleeps to my first race of 2010!!!

  • How are you today?
  • HAPPY THURSDAY!

I just want to reach out and touch that porcupine myself. On second thought, that might not be the best idea.

I hope you're feeling better. Did you go to the doctor? If not, I hope you do, since it will speed up the healing process.

Lacey forgot to say FIRST. Hehehe.

3 Things Thursday was practically MADE for you, being THREE things and all.

Glad you got out for a run and that your legs feel pretty good. Hopefully all that coughing will be over before your race!

Okay, I probably wouldn't try to pet a porcupine, but she sure does look cute and snuggly. :)

I hope you feel better and good luck on the race!!! I have pet a porcupine before. If you rub toward the tail, it doesn't hurt. I am crazy - I know :)

Happy Thursday, girl!

Happy Thursday! Yay for getting back out there and going for a run, especially when you are coming off of a cold.

And congrats on all the money you are raising! Awesome job and such a worthy cause!

I ran a marathon with pneumonia a few springs ago. It was the hardest marathon I every ran. (I didn't know for sure I had it until after) Take care of those lungs!

just a little fyi because I feel bad: Sorry about my lack of funding support. I am still trying to figure out where the finances are going to fall with the new house purchase. But I haven't forgotten you (or the many others who are raising money for a cause).

I love porcupines! I rarely get to see them locally. They are too sneaky.

Glad you got out there, even if you aren't feeling great yet.

Great job on the fundraising!

I'm sorry you're still sick. I really hope you're not getting the bronchitis I had at the beg. of the year. I'm sending good health vibes your way!

Ugg I hate when your lungs feel that way after being sick! I am sure you will not have lost any fitness even with the interruptions! You are a speedy girl!

I am NOT a fan of porcupines! When I was little I fell near the bottom of a large climbing tree in the woods near our cottage and got a needle stuck in my leg just below my knee. It was excruciating! Do NOT pet porcupines! haha! Thank goodness there was no scar.

Good luck this weekend! Glad to hear your legs feel strong! Try to get lots of sleep!

My day has been great - beautiful sunshine and warm weather!

The pocupine is too cute! My dog, Skylar, still on the other hand still has not learned. When she was 5ish she got tangled up with one and the vet had to sedate her to remove most of the quills. Then that very next summer she went after another one but luckily I was paying attention and I was able to stop her before anything happened.

Oh, be careful with that cough. I developed one quickly in the fall which was actually pneumonia. I took a week of work, 3 weeks off running and sacrificed a half-marathon. I know what you're fearing. Take it easy and get checked out; it would be a good idea to find out how much you can push yourself.

Cute porcupine. We have a hedgehog hiding in our yard - UGLY!

Running and being sick is no fun. Been there done that. I hope you get stronger every day and have an awesome run on Sunday. I'm glad I could add a little to the cause yesterday. I hope you reach your goal soon.

I ran over a porcupine once. I had quills everywhere.

It kills me that you are going to run this race sick this weekend and still pace Amanda to her sub 2hrs! You are a rockstar! Feel better!

Hacking and running don't mix! Hope you are feeling at least a little better by race day.

And an answer to your question- I'm good! Thanks for asking! ;)

I don't know that I've ever seen a porcupine in real life. Crazy that you've named her and made her part of the family. I love it. Of course you would. :o)

Hope you feel better soon!

As for the porcupine - yikes! No way I would try to pet that thing.

Take care!

One of my run buddies has had a sickness like yours..she made it through the first 75 min of our run on Sunday and then packed it in. She hated doing it but now feels better ...you just have to know it is the right decision when you are that sickness.
I have never seen a porcipine..and I grew up in the sticks....
