Zoe Where are you?

I was so excited for my Saturday Long Run with my Fleet Feet training group, NRBF Zoe and Running bloggy Mama Kerrie. I was testing the PRETTY Purple jacket Brooks sent me and a pink Bondiband. While stretching I did not see my bandit friends. I was thinking maybe they were very hidden and going to jump out at any time, Zoe has done that before see report HERE. As we set out no buddies :( So I linked in with Matt, the speedster, and thought I would catch Zoe on the way back. I probably should have waited..

We were going about 8:30 pace and my legs felt AMAZING. Paul, owner of Fleet Feet, was leading and would take us off the trail and to a training hill. I was supposed to run 10 miles, but 11 would put me at an even 30 for the week. Just past the Buffalo and Osprey field and headed to the first water stop I heard what I thought was Sam the Bald Eagle. Looked back to find my sweet little Zoe trying to catch my Amazon strides. I slowed and Matt took off with BQ Tammy.

Zoe had made the first 3ish miles at RACE PACE, I was SUPER stoked that she caught up. We turned off the path toward the big hill. Repeat after me "Hill training is good!" Zoe was recovering from SPRINTING to catch me, so I went on ahead then stopped at the top. She had linked up with Janna, a Fleet Feet training runner who did a 10K test last week to prove her speed. We ran together the rest of the run. Conversation flowed and our pace was strong. The WEIRDEST thing I saw was someone water skiing on a small pond in their back yard. What the what? Only in Orting!!

We kept hitting elbows, it is tough to run 3 across. We caught up to Kerrie who ran ahead and snapped a picture. Thanks Kerrie! My legs do not look like they are moving, LOL! I have been doing all of my Long runs with my Golite handheld and I know it is going to be my savior come race day.

I cannot believe how easily 11 miles passed, I am LOVING my long runs with buddies. Speaking of buddies..
This is Jessica my friend from high school, roommate in college and all around cool gal. She is training for her first Half and is doing GREAT!
And Speaking of GREAT, Zoe the great rocked out this run. I have no idea how she caught up, seriously Mighty Mouse speed.

Our new buddy Janna was nice enough to snap a photo, rare for Bloggers to have a REAL picture taken.
We all exchanged little gifts green sports bra, purse hangers, etc. I talked WAY longer than I should have because we had a family trip (Sorry Muscle Man)... But is was a GREAT Saturday.
  • HAPPY MONDAY!
  • How was your weekend?

*Monthly recap and Test Lab Tuesday tomorrow! And stay tuned for a Giveaway this week!!

My weekend was spent clearing out the snow and getting so dirty running in slush! Great pics.

Your legs look like they're hardly moving because it's so effortless for legs like that to run at your speed. Mine? They'd have to move so fast, they'd look like the cartoon characters when they run - you can hardly see them. ;)

I run and only see a whiskery elderly gentleman in his vintage pickup truck, you run and have arm loads of friends. I need to move! ;-)

Love the pink bondi band. So cute!
I hope your trip was good.

My weekend was fun getting so much snow for this area and playing in it with my kids. I also pumped out 8 great miles on the TREADMILL b/c I couldn't get on the road safely. Great pics and run! I'm enjoying Zoe's blog, too. You guys are so fun to read.

I have to say that this is my biggest complaint. We move frequently and it takes time to meet people much less running people. Venturing out on this journey alone has been great from the deep digging, but I am at a point where I really could use some human connections. Especially on long runs. Thanks for sharing!

Sounds like a great run! I've really got to try that running buddy thing out.
