Goals for CO

Sorry Bloggies I have lurked but not had time to comment.. Thanks to eveyrone for the advice on running while on a trip and in the snow/altitude. I decided the best way to get through the next 8 days is to set some short term goals.

Goals for this week in Colorado:

1. Do not gain any weight. I will do this by drinking mostly water and making smart decisions with snacks.

2. Run a minimum of 4 times. I will do this by having a positive attitude about the Treadmill.

3. Do not stress about running distance or time, just get in a run and use this week as a rest week if I cannot fit in long miles.

That is all I have for tonight... Pictures and HOPEFULLY a running related post tomorrow.

Good for you! My goals lately have been pretty similar. Don't gain wait, run when you can even if it's just a mile.

Treadmill can be your friend. I find it wonderful for intervals.
Most of all, enjoy Colorado if you can find time.

IMO - after a day or two - you will probably be pretty acclimated to the altitude. (I am assuming you are in Denver - mile high city).

As you said - drink plenty of water. Enjoy - CO is a wonderful place.

Take this time as an opportunity for some "mel" time. It isn't selfish - it is re-charging your battery.

Crazy that you left the Northwest for high altitude and snow and I left the elevation of Utah for sunny, sea level running on the same day! Hope you enjoy your trip, even if it is for work. Great job on your treadmill run. How's the air feel?

These goals sound reasonable.. do the best you can. A week 'off plan' won't hurt you.

I think those are very realistic goals Mel. Better to be realistic and succeed than to aim for somthing too lofty and then be disappointed if you don't reach them. Good luck.
