Ready to Rock N Roll

Last year when I crossed the Finish line of my FIRST Marathon I spotted Muscle Man, bewildered, beaten up and bummed I said the words "Don't EVER let me do that again!" There is a link to the FULL gory details HERE if you are interested....

So less than 1 year later and I have forgotten the pain, agony and defeat, because I WILL run the Seattle Rock 'N' Roll Marathon again on Saturday, June 26, 2010. My original plan was to run with my buddy Shelby for her FIRST Marathon, but since her hubby is going to join her... I have a new plan..

This year I am going for a course PR running with two women I have never met in person. Strangers some may call them, but I Disagree, these ladies are among my MANY MANY Virtual friends. The amazing and talented Amanda HERE. Goofy and great, one of the many reasons I LOVE Canadians, Marlene HERE. I am SOOOOO EXCITED!! There are going to be sooo many Bloggers and buddies running the Half and Full Seattle Rock 'N' Roll, this is shaping up to be an event for the photogs :) I am hoping to pull together a Meet up carbo load event, so email me if you are interested.

OK that is about enough excitement for a Monday morning.

HAPPY MONDAY!!
How was your weekend?

I know that you said that the 1000+++ club was closed, but I posted it to my blog anyway. Even if I can't join the club, I will still do the miles! Hope your challenge is going well!

Soooo close to first comment. Ah well, I'll take second. ;) Or maybe I should wait and try to be number 3 since I know you love your THREES.

Speaking of which, the 3 of us are going to have the time of our lives! I am beyond excited!!!

Very cool! That's going to be a lot of fun! Seems everyone is doing the RNR. I wasn't ready to run in Seattle again and also couldn't afford the entry fee. Hoping I can come to cheer everyone on!

how fun to run with some virtual friends! It's funny, sometimes I "talk" with my blog friends more often than my "live" friends!

I'm so excited!!! I also had an interesting experience running the half last year. I'm aiming for a PR as well. I can hardly wait to meet everyone in person. I am definitely in and I'll be bringing my camera :)

You guys are going to have a blast at your race in June! How exciting!

Army son may be sent to CA after his AIT. I am hoping for new racing and meet up opportunities when we get to go visit! Although the East coast is really nice too.

They say marathoning is like childbirth -- with enough time you will forget all the pain and try yet again!

It is so funny how runners soon forget the pain of running. I said those same words after running my 1st 50 miler and here I am one year later getting ready to try for 100! ;-)

Wow, congrats on the second marathon! Do you happen to know how early the Rock N Roll half fills up? I heard that both the half and full sells out quickly. Any suggestions on signing up now vs later? (Im trying to keep a running budget!)

Sounds like a great race, I hope to do the half!

after my first and only 1/2 marathon I told my friend that I could tell it was going to be like child birth- right after the soreness was so much I was like - "never again!", but after that the joy kicked in and I was like "when are we going to do that again?!"

Jealous but so happy for you!

I CAN'T WAIT! I talked to a girl at the RnR booth in Phoenix this weekend and she said the course is just outstanding. Definitely challenging, but awesome. Of course you being the Washingtonian know this! But it certainly got me all riled up with excitement!

That sounds so exciting! Amanda and Marlene are two bloggers I'd love to meet someday. I'm sure you guys will have a great race!

These blogger meet ups are killing me. Can someone please come run a race on the east coast so I can proclaim a meet up with a famous blogger??

Sounds like it could be a great time! I'm looking forward to reading about it.

That is so exciting!! If I wasn't going to have a newborn I'd be tempted to fly up and meet you gals!

I haven't decided yet, but I think that is my WA race I'm going to go for this year!!! I'll let you know as we get closer... hopefully it doesn't close out as soon as it did last year.

Woo hoo! I love the whole atmosphere around the Rock 'n' Roll races! Just finished the R 'n' R half in Arizona yesterday. Had an incident at mile 11....will have a full race report posted by Weds when I get back in town!

Reading your experience of your first time at Rock 'n Roll Seattle may be the best bit of advice EVER. I have three daughters and if I even have an inkling to use the bathroom and I don't...I get irritable and upset. I will absoluteley take your experience to heart and will be using the restrooms as often as I need before I start! I'm going to do the 2010 Seattle Rock 'n Roll, too! I am so excited. And scared. And excited! (Ok, I am 98% sure I am doing it. Will decide for sure on Thursday!)

Any suggestions for talking my running buddy into signing up for this marathon. What would you say makes the Seattle Marathon so special? She is originally from Port Townsend, living in Vermont now but is not a big racer. When I mentioned it to her she did not shoot me down instantly which is amazing!

Sounds fantastic! Congrats on setting this great goal and having 'friends' to run it with! I bet this is a beautiful course, too!

Alicia said...

That's so fun! 26.2 more miles to add to your goal of running with buddies. Awesome!

So it seems that Full Marathoning pain is similar to child birth pain? Forgotten easily and then we again. That's awesome that you'll catch up with the virtual friends. that would be so exciting to meet up with people you feel you know already but are meeting for the first time. Enjoy.
