Wonderful Saturday

Welcome new Bloggy Pack Members!! I will be a bad Blogger for the next couple weeks...BUSY.. but I will make it around to say "Hi." Drop me a line to introduce yourself :)

With just 20.97 miles left to my 1,000 goal I was (CRAZY) hoping to do twin 10 milers this weekend and get it done. Zoe said she would go with me after her 10K, LOVE her!! But when hubby said he would go I could not say no. So we bundled up the kiddos and headed to the trail.

It was sub 30' but no wind. When we arrived at the park the restrooms were LOCKED. What?? I had planned on a pre-run stop, thankfully there was a porta potty across the street. The boys had the wind cover and Bob the Builder on the DVD player. I tried to turn on Garmin...paperweight mode... AGAIN! I thought I had charged it but guess not, hubby brought a digital watch so we set out. It was COLD!

I could tell that Muscle Man did not have the right gear, he was pretty uncomfortable. don't tell him but after Christmas he should be great in the running clothes department. Afterall he has his First Half Marathon to prepare for. The boys were fussy, hubby was cold, so my HOPE 10 miler turned quickly to a "Let's turn around at 15 minutes," hubby agreed.
Here we are at the half way point. Just after this photo the camera also went into paperweight mode... darn batteries!! Very sad because a MAJESTIC BALD EAGLE flew by. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Bald Eagles, what a treat to see mid run. We spotted the big bird once more, perched on a tree overlooking the river...the camera would not comply.
Back to the park using my camera on my phone. Muscle Man was sweaty, how I have no idea?? We ran 3.5 miles.. So I am at less than 20 miles.. YIPPEE YIPPERS!!
Mount Rainier was BEAUTIFUL and full of snow..
We TRY to run where the Little Studs have something to look forward to at the end. The trail has a fun little park and they found a new slide..
Thankfully I have run my @$$ off this year because I guarantee that I would not fit on this slide otherwise. Look at our little bundled up babies. It was FUN to play at the park.
After our run and park fun our day went like this:
  • Coffee with Peppermint Mocha Creamer
  • Grilled Cheese Sandwich Lunch
  • Gingerbread House building (pictures to come)
  • NAP for an hour and a half while Little Stud #2 Napped. GLORIOUS!!!
  • Final gifts purchased at Target
  • Driving around looking at Christmas Lights
  • Anchorman on DVD

I must say that after a LONG LONG week at work this Saturday has been WONDERFUL! Hoping that you all are having as much fun as we are.

Great pictures. Great idea to bring the DVD player for the kids. I would love to be able todo a 10 miler with the hubs but honestly I don't think he has THAT much desire to run lol. Count yourself lucky.

Sounds like a great day! I wish I could get my hubbs to run a 10 miler. He's not big on distances and since his knee surgery he's not big on running at all. :-(

Love your pictures! Your little studs are lucky to have a thoughtful mommy & daddy. Sweet slide!

Can't wait to see the gingerbread project. You are industrious!
Freezing rain here today means 13 on the treadmill. I will have to break it up to get it done.

Have a super Sunday...we are havinga super slippy Sunday.

Brilliant idea on the DVD player -- that one will be in my post-baby long run tool kit!

sounds like so much fun and your little guys are so cute - how old are they?

I hate when I forget to charge my Garmin, I have to know exactly how far I run, my overall pace and how many calories I burned. It drives me crazy not knowing. I also frequently forget to charge my shuffle which can really suck at times.

I love the days when you can get everyone to nap at the same time and you get to lay down too. It's the best.

Sounds like a fantastic day! I'm still trying to get the Hubby to run with me!

Super jealous of those majestic views! They are the #1 reason I would love to live out there!

Hope the rest of the weekend was good!

It sounds like ya'll had a great Saturday, love the cute family pics. I like the "paperweight mode" line, I'll have to remember that the next time I forget to charge the Garmin and it dies on me.

What a great day -- I think it would be just so cool to see a Bald Eagle while out for a run.
