Winter Scents Giveaway

Stats 12/9:
Time- 39:34
5- Miles
7:54 Pace
24.76 miles to 1,000 GOAL
COLD day with bright sun and lots of bird action.

After being TOTALLY Inspired by all the COMMENTS yesterday... I bundled up and headed toward the front door of the building, many of the ADULTs scoffed at the silly girl about to run in the WINTER CHILL. I am going to be training for a MARATHON in this weather I may as well get used to it. So I set out, cold at first but VERY comfortable after about a mile. My internal goal was to pace for sub 8 minute miles...ACHIEVED!!

The KEY reason I am not a Treadmill (Dreadmill) runner is because I LOVE Nature (Followed quickly by the fact that I am a 6'0 Goofus who would probably fall off and break every bone in my body). Yesterday did not disappoint. I saw something I have NEVER seen before. A group of nearly 100 Canadian Geese on the river. They were swimming in formation, perfect lines, much like the opening ceremonies in the Beijing Olympics. It was so simple and beautiful. How do they move so perfect, keep the spacing between and form symmetrical shapes?? Maybe the King of Canadian Geese is coming and they are getting ready, who knows, but it was breathtaking.

Overall I felt good, I am really trying to work on my pacing, and not STARE at my Garmin (which needs a name by the way). Here is a quick picture of my SCORE Gonzaga Hat $5 at Lids!! Love love love it...
And since we are talking about the Smells of Winter...oh wait, we weren't.. Bloggy Pack Member Janice (HERE) is a Scentsy Independent Consultant and has Kindly offered to host a GIVEAWAY!!!

You did awesome yesterday! Way to rock those sub 8's! And you looked cute while doing it :)

I really like the smell of cinnamon this time of year. I have two candles that smell like it burning all the time right now. Have a good Thursday! :)

Nice pace!! It didn't dawn on me until last night that I'll be training for 3 marathons in the winter weather. When I registered, I never thought of that!

You just reminded me that I need to go to our downtown this weekend for my long run! I love nature too, it is so relaxing :-)

I am with you on avoiding the treadmill at all costs. I have friends who will only run indoors on the mill and I just don't get it at all. I'd rather be outside, regardless of the season!

I feel like such a wuss that I can't run in this weather. The wind is so cold on my face that I get a headache, maybe I just need to suck it up and run though, I'm starting to go through withdrawal.

Awesome pace! I am totally with you on the treadmill! Bleck! Makes me feel caged in.

My fave Christmas smell is cinnamon monkey bread baking in the oven Christmas morning!

Nice job on getting out there in the cold for you run! You're right, if you are going to train for a marathon in those conditions, you might as well get used to it! BTW, how cold was it, really?

Mel can I just say that you ALWAYS take good pictures. You have a great smile. Kudos to you for braving the cold and running and sub-8 miles...you go girl!!!

I love nature too! I want to run outside soooo badly but it is 30 degrees below zero out today and I can hardly even walk outside to my car. I have to resort to the dreadmill and I hate it. Motivation slipping....Nice job on your 5 mile!!!

You never take a bad picture. Really!

I am behind this week on ...everything, so I am playing catch up. I may have to start getting up earlier or staying up after getting up with littlest at 4 a.m. Ekk.

Running outside in the cold is refreshing! Great job running at lunch...I've tried that. Not for me. :)

My favorite "winter" scent is cinnamon, peppermint, and the smell the air gets before it snows. Ahhhh. :)

Zoe would love the Scent of the month... it is Cinnamint... I have not yet smelled it, but I am sure it is fab. I ordered a bunch of the Car Candles in the new scent to giveaway to friends for fun. Can't wait to smell it. Thanks again for the shout out and the giveaway.

The geese formation on the water sounds amazing--good for you for getting out! Currently I'm struggling with the ability to buckle down on the dang TM when I absolutely have to.
Anyway great giveaway as always, I visited Janice's blog and left a comment.

..and as far as scents go I am fickle... I love something evergreenish sometimes....cinnamony others....vanilla is good...depends on my mood.

Cinnamon has always been my favorite!

I love nature, too. That's why I feel completely uninspired to run on a treadmill.

Great job on your run!!
