Newton Trial Run

“If I have seen further than others,
it is by standing upon the shoulders of giants.”
Isaac Newton

As I look at my Holey Asics (Yes holey, they have holes, I have pictures to prove it) I realize it is Time for new Runners.. Thankfully Newton sent me these beauties to TEST..
Newton's Marketing message "Science in Motion." Hmmmm...we will see. Oh how I Love Love the smell of new shoes. Lets not talk about how they smell after a race..

Off to chip away at 1,000 and add up some HBBC points. I am thinking that 6 miles sounds good. I need to find a new 1/2 Marathon training plan ASAP, suggestions welcome. My Goal for the Mercer Island Half Marathon is to be a Pacer for Amanda for a sub 2 hour Half... My birthday gift to her and a chance for me to ENJOY a race with a friend..

Signing off to RUN...

What? Holes in your shoes? Glad you got some new ones - can't wait for a review, never really hear of anyone wearing these. :)

Yay me!!! I am stoked about having you run with me! AWESOME! I talked with a friend who has done EVERY SNGLE race locally. He said it was a doozie, worse than Seattle....UGH! :)
Hope you had a good run!

I want a pair of newtons but I think its bc I just want a pair of fully pink shoes! Not sure what model u r testing but the ones I like are $160! I won't pay that much! I think $10 gets donated to prostate cancer tho...does that mean its a tax write off?? I'm def interested to see what u have to say about the newtons!!!

always been curious about those shoes, looking forward to hearing about them!

I've been using Newtons for about 2 years now...and even when i was a clydesdale triathlete I loved these shoes. They've helped me really improve my running form and economy.

I tried brooks beasts this time last year and had a bloody horrible experience. I immediately went back to Newtons.

Be afraid...be very afraid...hahaha

I'm super envious of your Newtons! I would love to try those out. I really need some new shoes too, but I earn all my running shoes by doing computer work for a local running store. And the owner doesn't know much about Newtons or have any experience with them, so he doesn't have them for me to get. I don't really want to buy a pair since I do stuff to earn them, but if I could just convince him to order in a pair and tell him all about them.... Sigh... ;-)

Great score on the new sneaks to review. You feet are going to be sooo happy.

Lay your old shoe to rest now, they have served you well.

I love new shoes!!!

A note: please do not take what I said the wrong way; I grew up with obese family members, and I agree those on BL are inspirations...I just also see a lot of dangers. And I am working on a Pro/Con post to kind of explain my thoughts.

Oh and one last thing: I like Gonzaga- they are always a team I take in the madness at least into the second round!

Being a pacer is so awesome! Thats what I did for my first half marathon and I loved every minute of it!!

Hope you enjoy your Newton's, I tried to like them but I'm an old heel striker and just couldn't change. For those that do want to give them a try I think they have a 30 day money back refund if not happy with them, at least they did when I bought them. I have a ton of triathlon friends that love them. Looking forward to hearing what you think

NICE!! I've been really wanting to try those myself (they are in Boulder near me too) so am interested to hear what you have to say...

WHAT?! I just read Amanda's comment. Worse than Seattle? Why? More hills? Yikes. I have to figure out the shoes/blisters thing.

Anyway, I liked the 12-week Hal Higdon, but I'm looking to increase my speed a little bit this time, so I'm also looking for a different plan. Let us know what you find!

When I first read the title of your post, I thought it said Newton TRAIL run. I got excited! ;)

I like the RW plans from SmartCoach, I'll be putting one together soon. Sometimes they have too many running days for me (I think 4), I have too many other things I like to do to run more than 4 days a week.

It'll be great to be a pacer! If you ever want to pace me, I love running races with friends. It might be torture for you to pace me since I'm so much slower than you. I think my 2010 half goal is to sub-2:15 (11 minutes off my current PR). Would love to aim for the 2:00 mark but think I should try to be a bit more realistic =).

Beautiful shoes!! How are all these people getting sent Newtons?! I have feet! They are naked! ;)

Hope it went well! You are totally going to hit your goal for this year!
