High Five Friday

My first run in my Newtons was an adventure. I set out to run 6 miles at sub 8min mile pace.. While driving last week I saw that there were some large levy structures on the Greenriver trail, sandbags in preparation for a possible dam break and FLOOD. Somehow I HOPED that the city would be nice enough to leave room for walkers, runners, bikers, etc.. WELL...they didn't. I ran along a small strip about as wide as my shoulders for 2 miles. Grass, tarp, trail, trying not to FALL. Leaves covered the path where the levy did not. I felt claustrophobic nearly the entire time not knowing what to expect next. The one bright spot was that as I came up behind a male runner he realized I had no room to pass, stepped aside and said "Keep on going!" with a smile. Gotta love the RESPECT. Stats: 5.5 Miles, 46:09 minutes, 8:22 pace. UPDATE 40.65 miles to 1,000!!

DINNER & PLAY-DATE:

We invited Amanda and her Little buddy over for dinner and kiddo play time last night. Her son is a a bit older than Little Stud#1 and they played together AWESOME, with Little Stud#2 trying to keep up with the big boys.. Muscle Man made us all dinner, bless his heart.. Salad, homemade Pizza and Brownies!!!

Of course we had to pose for a quick photo...Note, this is the first time I have seen Amanda in non-workout clothes and with her hair done..
SMILES all around..
OK this time the silly photo was my idea. We swapped funny stories about our kids and how they can embarrass us without even knowing it.. For example when Little Stud #1 was learning to say "Fog" it sounded a lot like a nasty word which rhymes with Muck. The boys ran around and called us "B-Zombies" I am pretty sure that we may have converted her Little Man into a Star Wars fan...OOPS. When it was time to go this was the reaction we got..
I guess they were not ready for the FUN to stop. Will have a play-date again soon.. I love how Blogging and Running has lead to Friendship for me and my kids :)

Super cute pics!

I have a 5K Jingle Bell Run tomorrow. Should be fun, they handed out jingle bells with the race packets that we "have" to wear on our shoes. We'll be pushing my son in the jogging stroller since its a small event (I promise to stay out of other runners way) we figured he'd get a kick out of it. Hope you have a great weekend!

Ha ha! Awesome! Love the food pics! You should SO post your food every day! ;) And that pizza...DElish! Not sure I offically thanked Mr. Tall Mom!

And this morning we had to REsend Levi's letter to Santa. Ammendment: Light "Savers". Great. My nose has a very sore spot from my brief encounter! Either way, I found one at Target and it will be waiting under the tree. :)

Mello what a shame about your run, but how lovely of that bloke. That sort of interaction makes you feel better for at least the next mile, don't you think? Have a great weekend!
