Chilly in Zen Land

On my lunch hour yesterday I ran with my co-worker I call Zen runner.. When I stepped outside I realized the sun had not come out, frost had not melted and I could see my breath. Oh and I forgot my gloves...can you say C O L D. I truly feel for those of you in super chilly climates. The Seattle area is never too cold, people who talk about negative degrees confuse me.

Anyhow...the rest of me was nice and warm, but my hands were FREEZING! Note to self keep gloves in every bad and locker. It was a great 3 miles, always nice to chat with a friend/co-worker. We have been with our company for 5 years, amazing how fast time flies. Since then I have had 2 kids, and she is recently engaged.

I did not look at my watch, I did not think about my form, I just relaxed and ran. I LOVED it!! And when I plugged in I realized I have 31.17 miles to my 1,000 goal. I am so tempted to bust out a 20 miler to get it done.... Yes I am that crazy! Will keep you posted, of course. Today we hunted for a Tree, it was COLD again but a total BLAST...photos tomorrow...

  • Coming soon....FUN Holiday giveaways, some hosted by fellow Bloggers, how cool is that? Stay tuned for Monday..
STAY WARM FRIENDS!!

Academy had 99 cent gloves that are perfect for stuffing around for when you need them!

I can't wait to get in a zen-like run after the marathon is over. I miss running with no real rhyme or reason!

I'm training in the cold, too. It's freezing here and a run without gloves would be impossible. Kudos to you for getting through it and good luck on meeting your 1000 mile goal. You are on course to smash it!

i made a date to run w a friend tomorrow and i am so concerned about running outside in the cold. i am usually on the treadmill at the gym. i also am not a good talker while running. so needless to say this run is stressing me out !!!

I keep seeing on Facebook that it's snowing, but I don't see any outside. Just cold. Tomorrow, I will try to run outside.

I know, I always complain about our cold mornings....and they are not cold. I don't know how people do it. Good running.

Gotta love those cold runs with popsicle fingers!

I will get a race report up as soon as littlest allows but I had to tell you I thought of you while running. I saw green shirt lady running...with her long hair d.o.w.n! I know. I know. I could not help but think of you as I thought..."what was she thinking?" smiles :-)

Hooray for a Zen run! They're my favorite. :)

I thought of you today as I drove past one of those signs that shows the time and temp - it was 3:33pm and 33 degrees!
