TIART and Training Partner

My Bloggy sister separated at birth Lacey at Common Objects and Everyday Events is the host of Take it and Run Thursday at the Runners Lounge HERE. Her question:

Imagine you are attending a week-long running camp. Where would it be? What would you do? Would there be classes? Bootcamps? Socials? I want to know all about the kinds of things that make up your ideal running-related week. No work, no obligations outside of camp,... for one week you can have it exactly your way! Tell me all about it!

Great question Lacey...I am going to take the DREAMER approach to this one...

Where: Ireland in a Castle

Who: All Running Bloggers near and far would have an all expense paid trip to Ireland for a FULL week and not lose any vacation time at home..

  • Carbo Loading meals every night
  • Free Gear and Shoes sponsored by all the Major Running companies
  • Races of ALL distances from the Crutches shuffle and Scooter sprint for our injured buddies, to the muscle mile and Flat and Fast BQ trial Marathon for those reaching for the FAST! Each day would provide a race to fit each person and help him/her feel PROUD of what he/she has accomplished that day. THERE IS A FINISH LINE FOR EVERYONE!
  • Big Name Runners and Coaches would speak in the evenings and would provide training tips throughout the week.
  • Free Massages for everyone!!
  • Each person would be provided a training plan to fit their specific running goals to balance with their life.
  • All Running Books and DVD's would be FREE, grab a bag and take what you need to inspire you.
  • And we would be staying in a CASTLE in IRELAND!! How cool is that?

Not sure that is what you were looking for Lacey....just for YOU I would also like to request that Biggest Loser, Top Chef and Project Runway Marathons play during the week for those FEW down moments..

Amanda at 5 Miles to Empty is a local Blogger.. Imagine my EXCITEMENT! I have been lightly recruiting Amanda to join me on a weekend training run for a few weeks. I have even offered gifts and hugs. Soooo to my surprise I read her Blog post HERE with a true confession.. Apparently I have given the wrong impression of my running, I run fast when I am alone because I want to get it over with and I have no one to run with but Garmin. If I have a partner I DO NOT CARE WHAT PACE WE RUN.

One of my very favorite training runs was with Ang, I did not look at my Garmin the entire 14 miles and it was pure BLISS! During that run Ang told me that she was intimidated to run with me because she didn't want to slow me down. UGH!! It makes me sad that by focusing on my Stats I have scared off potential running buddies.

My usual training partner, my BFF Charity, rides her bike next to me on long training runs...I have to run fast so she doesn't fall off :) I REALLY REALLY would like to have someone to run with. If you have a few minutes PLEASE PLEASE go to Amanda's post HERE and lightly recommend that she run with me this weekend... I would TRULY TRULY appreciate it...

I am in for the castle trip. Sorry for my cranky post - I am in for Chicago - I am just not sure what pace I will be running. You just never know :)

I am DEFINITELY coming to your training camp!! Sounds PERFECT! I should get my thinking cap on and respond to Lacey's TIART. I've been lazy on Thursdays lately.

I'll go give Amanda a nudge to run with you! You'd be a GREAT running buddy!

Count me in. :) I DEFINATELY like the all-expense part!
Oh, and the carbo-loading everynight is almost as tempting. ;)

Love your running week! Sounds wonderful...but I'd move it to the wine country of France. :D BTW, if I lived closer we'd have to go on a run because you just sound so cool (and we'd keep it short because I'd slow you down a lot)!

You are TOO funny!!! Lightly recruited?! My blog is smoking with all the traffic from yours!!!

Well how can I say no now? Good thing you are a planner because I am a procrastinator! You just tell me when, where and what time and I will be there! :) Oh yay!!! Pressure is off to run 8 miles at a 7:30 pace! HA!!!!

See you Saturday!

I think you need to qualify that to "a castle in Ireland with central heating and air." Otherwise, it sounds fabulous -- I'd be there!

WHAT A PERFECT CAMP!!!! castle in ireland---!!! so cool!! i am laughing to myself STILL about the tv marathons,... you have me completely pegged, lol!!!!! free massages, all expenses paid, no lost vaca time, sneakers,... yes, yes, yes, and YES! i'm on a plane...

i will go and recommend you ASAP!!!! i also feel the same way-- don't care about pace when partner running. esp if we are going to log double digits!!! it's so nice to have a buddy. it's hard to find a workable situation tho, as far as timing and location etc.

so... for YOU... have you ever seen Bing Crosby's White Christmas???? well i have two videos from it you NEED to watch. LOL.

Totally just left Amanda a comment on your behalf. :) And who better to do it than me, the girl who has gone on a run with you before! Hope it works!

What a great runs there would be!! And even BETTER recovery!!

And, who says "medium?" It's funny, but just as middle-of-the-road as "fine." Hahaha. Medium rare? Medium well? Hmm...

I was pretty proud of my oatmeal. But don't expect my blog to turn into a foodie one, either!! Mostly I wish I ate as well as the foodie bloggers do!

Isn't Lacey the best? I heart her. :o) Good luck with roping a new running buddy. I'd totally run with you if I lived closer.

I would go to Ireland and live in a castle for a week with you.
I think the initial run with someone new is ALWAYS intimidating. You really don't know what to expect. I've had those feelings and I've also had people tell me they have felt that way. So, not unusual for her to feel this way. However..... you are stinkin' FAST girl. LOL
