Getting to know you

Since hubby and his BF are watching Monday Night Football... I am (hiding from the testosterone) in the room with the Little Studs watching cartoons. With this RARE few extra minutes I clicked on The Tall Mom Bloggy Pack, Followers 136 of them. How in the Monkey did that happen? As I clicked around the song from "The King and I" popped in my head.

Getting to know you,
Getting to know all about you.
Getting to like you,
Getting to hope you like me.
Getting to know you,
Putting it my way, But nicely,
You are precisely, My cup of tea.
OK not the exact message I am trying to get across but you get the idea.. If you are a visitor, follower, lurker, reader, fan, etc... please drop in a comment and introduce yourself.. I would love to get to know you. As always any negative words can be submitted in Swahili.. If your profile does not link to your Blog please leave the Bloggy address so I can stop in and say HI and get to know you.
Getting to know you....sing that while you RUN :)

Thanks. I now have that song stuck in my head!

I know you know about http://momvsmarathon.blogspot.com, but I also write about mom stuff at http://www.sanitydepartment.com. Since you are a mom, too, you may be able to appreciate some of those stories, too. :)

Swim, bike, what? said...

Woohoo! I'm first.

I'm pretty new to Tall Mom on the Run. I'm also new to running! My name is Shelly. Last December my cousin asked if I wanted to do a triathlon (sprint style). I've NEVER been a runner so I figured I'd start with seeing if I could run. Over this past year now I've run 300+ miles, competed in three 5k events, did the Acura LA Bike Tour, swam a ton, and did my 1st triathlon in July. I'm not always 100% committed - and I'm not in shape. But I love the new challenge this has given me and the reconnection with myself.

Ok...maybe that was TMI :)

I can't remember where I found your blog, but I am doing my first half marathon in November, and finding blogs like yours have definitely been an inspiration!

Cute post. :)

I think you know enough about me already. hahahaha

Hey! I'm fairly new to running and discovered your blog the other day. My goal is to do a 10K in November without finishing last or walking. I've done a handful of 5K's over the last year, and I'd really like to get faster. Never being much of an athlete as an adult, I'm going into this journey a bit blindly.

Personally, I'm married (15 years) to a fantastic man and have 2 active, beautiful preschoolers.

I just started running this year also and I am training for my first marathon in October. I found your blog and it is alot of fun reading your great posts. I can relate to alot of them. You are alot younger than me and alot faster, but it is still fun reading your blog. I have been married 27 years and have 6 children and 2 grand children. (That makes me sound really old and I sure don't feel it) Anyways thanks for your inspiration!!!

I just got to the point where I can talk and run (if I'm not running major hills or going at tempo pace) not sure I'd be able to sing and run =). Would be entertaining for others wouldn't it?

I would much rather watch cartoons than football! Okay, little known facts about me - I used to ride horses, the only thing I really ever wanted to be was a marine biologist (fell way short on that one), I'm a sucker for anything pumpkin, and my cell phone ring before I got my new phone was the theme from Fraggle Rock.

OMG how funny! I used that song to audition for every musical in high school....back in the day.

PS - Your rainbow brightness (from yesterday's post) MADE my day. I ALWAYS think of you when picking out super-stand-out exercise gear!! :)

Hi! I am Jama and I find you too funny. I always stop by to see what you are up to. I just got back into running 2 months ago after baby #3. Reading your thoughts gives me the motivation to keep trying some days. Thanks.

I just added you to my google reader a few days ago, after seeing your name come up again and again on other people's blogs that I read. I haven't delurked yet, because I usually read for a week or two before I "commit" and start commenting:) This is a fun idea for a post though, I might borrow it and credit you if that's ok.

Hi there, I found your blog recently through a contest that someone else posted about. I follow a bunch of blogs that mostly I just lurk on, but I'm trying to be good and comment more. I've been running since February 2008... a definite mid-packer although sometimes I get lucky at small events. I'm aiming for my first marathon in January and I'm terrified because right now I feel so relieved just finishing 13.1 and I can't imagine doing that distance twice in a row.

Hi! Love your blog.
Just wondering where do you buy jeans? I'm *only* 5'10" but have a hard time finding pants, especially jeans that are long enough. Thanks!

I'm no lurker, that's for sure!

I think your blog was possibly the first running blog that I found! And you are a neighbor!!! how fun! i love checking in with you every day. And i must say, by most of your pictures I would have never guessed you were 6 feet tall. Muscle Man must be tall too! :)

Hey Mel!

I just found your blog from a comment on someone elses, and I'm enjoying reading through :). I got to this post and had to say hi haha.

What initially got me to click through is that I saw your name is Mel also (awesome), but your blog rocks and I'll be back! I also have a blog about running (in Brooklyn), but of course it spans my whole life because how can you cut it out?
