Thirsty? -NUUN Giveaway

SORRY THIS CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED. Please go to the nuun website to find out more about this great product.

The LOVELY folks at nuun are sponsoring this Fun Friday Giveaway..

Tall Mom thoughts about nuun: (I am no nutritionist so my thoughts are purely from a Mom and athlete who LOVES to drink tons of water)

*For those of you who don't know what nuun is, simply put it is a tablet that dissolves in water changing the flavor and providing you with a nutrient rich drink without the added calories/carbs of a regular sports drink.

*Optimal way to kick up the hydration power of Water and I drink water ALL DAY so this is a perfect way to mix it up.

*Flavors taste great and I did not notice an after taste on the run.

*My Boss tested the Banana (I don't do Banana). After one morning treadmill run she asked me for the website to buy more, she loves the product and the benefits to alleviate cramping.

*We beat the heat wave with the nuun, the adorable blue water bottle in the cup holder of the double jogger.

*I have tried several of the flavors and LOVE the Citrus and Orange Ginger. nuun is not overpowering but gives water a KICK and makes hydrating FUN.

*I am excited to test nuun along with my Gu's and things on a long run. During training for a 10K in the heat this has been a savior, but I know for Marathon training I will LOVE it. nuun believes that as athletes we should chose where we use our calories.

****Warning: mix the NUUN in a bottle that you use for sports drinks, do not use your good just WATER bottle. Some bottles should just be used for WATER or you will never get the taste out of the plastic..

What nuun says about nuun: (HERE)

*Slogan- Make Your Water Count

*nuun was designed, formulated and tested to keep you optimally hydrated, wherever you are.

*12 bottles of Sugar-free electrolyte goodness from 1 tube.

*we spent years researching the levels of electrolytes needed for the product to be absorbed the quickest and to provide optimal salt balance to prevent cramping and maximise hydration. an editor of a major triathlon publication used nuun and had “no cramping issues for the first time ever in an ironman”.

I sooooo want to win this. I love nuun. I need a nuun water bottle and more nuun! LOL

The flavor I most want to try is banananuun. I've never tried the orange ginger either, and have heard good things about it.

me! me! pick me!

I just tried Nuun for the first time this past week. I got the Citrus Fruit and def like the results. Wasn't a fan of the taste, but there are still more flavors to try. I was holding off on my product review til I've given it the Long Run test (tomorrow). I'm excited about your contest and I hope I win! :) LOL!

My favorite quote is this: "It's very hard to understand that the whole idea is not to beat the other runners. Eventually you learn that the real competition is against the voice inside you that wants to quit." - George Sheehan

I think of this constantly when I have a bad run... which happens more than I ever let on. I think of that or my own mantra - If you give up now you're only selling yourself short*

I want! I thought Nuun was surfing something for a long time before I realized it was water. For me, I just love the branding. Cool logo, cool font, cool colors.

I love Nuun. It is a bit fizzy, so I always make a bottle the night before and then drink it on the run. It is perfect the next mornig. I have never tried the cola, but it looks great and I like all the other flavors!

First of all for the nuun giveaway, a craetive saying - I love this one from and old Nike Ad Canmpaign.....
"You don't stand in front of a mirror before a run and wonder what the road will think of your outfit. you don't have to listen to its jokes and pretend they're funny in order to run on it. It will not be easier to run if you dress sexier. The road doesn't notice when you're not wearing make up. It does not care how old you are. And you don't feel uncomfortable if you make more money than it. The only thing the road cares about is that you pay it a visit once in a while." - NIKE Goddess

Well I was just talking with Candice @ I Have Run about nutrition and hydration and now that I am getting closer to the 6 miles mark, it's a great time to try some new products, especially since I live in FL and it is hot more than not. Went over to the Nuun website and I would really love to try the gogi berry green tea, sounds like it could do so much more for you than just hydrate! Hope I win!!!

Jesse said...

I just bought a tube of Nuun the other day, but haven't tried it yet. I've heard wonderful things about it. I got the citrus fruit flavor, as I figured that was a pretty generic taste to start with and I didn't want to be turned off by something off-the-wall.

I have tried Nuun and I love that it's not as sweet as the other sports drinks. I've only tried the Tri Berry and am really interested in Kona Cola, interesting!

I've been looking to try nuun for a long time - I love that there are no sweeteners, bc they make my stomach very very upset. I get super sweaty from running in the desert too, so I'm sure electrolyte replacement should really be a part of my long runs.

Also, I'm a follower of course :)

and I love the Joe Pa quote I have on the side of my blog "The will to win is important, but the will to prepare is vital." It really makes it hit home that all of the training is what is really important!

Morgan and I have the same favorite running quote!!!! We have already discussed this and I knew she would use it! So, I am going to give you a non-running quote:

"Don't try to fit people into your life; if they don't fit, it's not their place."

And about Nuun...I am really fickle about what I drink/eat when I run and always looking for new things to try. I would want to try the tri-berry first because I tend to gravitate to that flavor in other items like GU, block and hammer.

Thanks for having the givaway!!!

I would try the cucumber-mint! That sounds so refreshing during a hard run :)

I've always wanted to try Nuun. I keep hearing that it's easy on the stomach. :)

Nuun is a lifesaver for a runner who can't have sugar (gastric bypass = dumping syndrome and reactive hypoglycemia). It keeps me absorbing fluids and electrolyte balanced here in the steamy southeast!

I've been meaning to give this stuff a try! I'm a berry, so I'd go for the Tri-berry. As for quotes, I recently saw this one and liked it a lot: "Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard."

Just came across your blog and I really like it! I'm now a follower of the Tall Mom on the Run. :)

I love NUUN! My favorite flavor is Kona Kola, tho I also like Triberry and the green citrusy flavor, too. I'm not a banana fan, so might not like that one! If I have NUUN in my water, than I always drink the right amount of water, no matter what the temperature. It rocks!

I will post a tweet about this contest. @triblogcarol is my twitter id.

As for a favorite quote...I have one by Mark Twain:

Thanks again!

I'll give you TWO comments in a day, how about that??

Actually, this sounds like it would be great for me, I tend to drink a lot of G2 'cause I need the salts but don't want so many calories out of my drinks. And I like the fact that it would pack up easy for me to take to races with me! Can't exactly pack a 12-pack of G2 bottles.

Now I'll probably have to order some on my own anyways. :)

Jennifer P said...

I would love to win this! I was introduced to nuun by winning a nuun giveway a few years ago at throughthewallchallenge.com. I wasn't a fan of the tri-berry, and even though I have a few citrus fruit tabs left, they've expired (still using them -- hasn't offed me yet!). I've always liked that they aren't sweet, and especially appreciate that now that I'm pregnant because anything sweet sicks me out.

I'm having a hard time trying to find a local retailer that carries them. I've got a few big races coming up (notably a 1/2 marathon in Maui) so some citrus fruit nuun would be sweet!

And I recently added you to my blog roll!
