Run Happy

Stats 8/12:
6.15- Miles
Time- 53:51
Pace- 8:45
Drizzly day, half of the run with Shelby, some hills and a sore knee.

Unlike Felice I am not always a Happy Runner. I am no Eeyore…
I would say about 75% of the time you will find me with a dimpled grin. Today was one of the Run Happy days. My work-running-buddy Shelby and I FINALLY reconnected. She joined me for the first 3.5 of my 6 mile run. Time flew by as we chatted about everything from the past few weeks.
We trekked at a comfortable pace and before I knew it I had to drop her off.

What next?? HILLS… I spaced last night and never got around to icing…UGH!! So my knee was a bit iffy. I decided I would do 3 hills, followed by a quick last mile back to the office. I saw my high five buddy (HERE) working the hills and shot a pretty smile his way. My legs felt good, but I am still very SLOW traversing the inclines. I know it is mental but when will I get over it? TRAINING!

After the 3rd hill I was ready for the flat land. There were 3 serious looking runners ahead at a good clip. If you ever watch me run you will notice that I SPEED UP when people are around. I felt like I was chasing these men and REALLY wanted to pass them, I sped up putting the athlete inside to the test…. but they stopped before I could pass…GRRR!

Past the Pipe smoker, around the corner and a FAST Sprint to the finish. Oh yes, I made that last mile MINE. And to boot I was wearing this adorable shirt that Brooks Running sent me…

How can you not run happy and fast wearing brink orange? Shop HERE if you are interested.. This shirt ROCKS!!

FYI my Bloggy Buddies are back on my reading list. YIPPEE!!!

I am actually wearing a bright orange shirt today, one of my absolute favorite colors! Love the t-shirt from Brooks!
Sorry to hear that the knee is still bothering you, do you know what you did to it? Or is it just overuse?
Hope it's feeling better soon!
Great job on the 6 miler! I am slow on hills too (not too many hills to speak of in Florida, so my hills are probably not even considered hills to everyone else, which makes it even funnier that I am sooooo slow!!lol!)

Yay for a happy run! Sounds like it was a good one. Way to conquer the hills and sprint to the finish!

That is a great top!

Awww love the "Run Happy" will need to think of that on days like today when I announced quite viciously that my legs sucked. Sorry legs, you don't suck, my baditude does. :)

Orange is my favorite color! And I would have to agree --bright colors make me run faster too. :)

I totally get what you mean about happy run days! I equate those to the runner's high everyone talks about. pair it with a happy running song (like Running Down a Dream) and I'm on top of the world.

And thanks for offering to share my blog with others...I would totally love a shout out! My friends IRL read it, but they are not bloggers so they never comment. So lonely in a comment-less world. ;) Thanks!
