My Birthday Gift (10K style)

My little (6'9), ok younger, brother gave me money for my birthday in June... I realized this weekend that I hadn't taken the check to the bank, mainly because he wrote it in my maiden name...FYI Jon have been married for almost 6 years. Anyhow..

Check=Money=Race entry fee

Hmmmmm... I have been hunting for a race in August. Before 2009 is over I want to have a recorded time for most distances (no Ultras here). As luck would have it there is a great local race just 40 minutes from home and in a BEAUTIFUL area. I registered for the Snoqualmie Railraod days 10K on August 22. Check out the website HERE, I am VERY excited to find a 10K program and get going....

Wish me luck..

FYI...check out my last post and let me know which item from Whooha Gear you would like to see in a future TallMom Giveaway.

I'm sure you'll have a speedy 10k! Great idea to use your birthday money for the race fee. Just read the post about the Whooha gear too... love it!

My younger brother does the same thing to me. He has spelled my name wrong on every birthday card that I can ever remember. I think he knows it annoys me so he continues to do it. Can't wait to read how your 10k goes. I hate the 10k.

Great idea Mel:) It sounds like a fun one. When you're done you can come and celebrate at Tom's BBQ (It's that evening, remember:P) You can treat yourself to something yummy!

I love that site. I am going to have so spend some of my b-day money there. I am loving the pink 26.2.. but any of the I run shirts are cute.

10ks are such a fun distance. Way better than 5ks in my opinion. Good luck!

I like the "I made a promise to myself" shirts on the Wooha site, personally. Good things to remember!

I put together a marathon playlist, and it ended up being 8+ hours. So I put it on my blog. :)

Looks like a fun race, and 10K is the perfect distance-not to short, not too long!

Sweet! How fun. I've never done a 10k, I was looking for one around the same time as well. Should be fun...a good distance, not too short, not too long (even though we love the long ones!).

What a great thing to spend your bday money on!
