If you have to ask...

People ask why I run. I say, "If you have to ask, you will never understand". It is something only those select few know. Those who put themselves through pain, but know, deep down, how good it really feels.

Have you ever tried to explain your passion for running to non-runners? Last night I met with a group of WONDERFUL women, friends, Bloggers and former high school classmates. Of the group my buddy Jill and I RUN. I was sooo excited to talk to Jill about running! We started chatting across the table, most of the group could not comprehend why we RUN. The consensus was that running more than 3 miles was too much...LOL... I guess Jilly and I will have to meet for coffee on a future date so we can talk freely about Gu, Fuel belts, LONG runs and race day.

I love the quote! Lots of non-runners don't get it. But then, neither did I before I started to run. :D

Great quote! I love the sentiment in that. I get this all the time from non-running friends and coworkers. They just think it's crazy. I even have friends who run that aren't really "runners" that don't get it. There's something about runners that ties us all together, and I think that's one of the coolest things about the sport.

Sometimes I feel like I have this great secret! My father in law tells me every time he sees me that it's amazing that I look YOUNGER every time! THAT is from running - it's great skin, a spring in our step, energy, vitality and excitement. Too many benefits to list really.

To me, it's a no brainer!
