The Runner's lounge started a fun topic today (Link). As a rookie runner I have learned very quickly the importance of a good pair of running shoes. The topic today was to write about your running shoes, with one catch - you need to do it in the same number of words as the dollars it took to buy them. As I say goodbye to my running shoes, they are DONE, I opted to do it with a Poem...an 89 word poem..
Ode to Adidas Gel-Nimbus 9,
Purchased at Sports Authority with a coupon of mine.
At $89.99 and a $50 discount,
My pride swelled at the bargain I had found.
Together we have travelled wind and rain,
Constant snow storms what a pain.
Blue and silver metallic shines with pride,
Supporting tall poundage wears down your insides.
Alas I know time is short,
A shoe cannot run without the sole to support.
Goodbye our running hours have come to an end,
Off to the store to find a new friend.

Love it!
I started out writing a poem and then realized my rhymes were weak! Yours are great!!
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I'm on my way to learn 100 things about you!!
That's great!
I decided I needed more than 100 words for a proper 'ode' and just wrote a brief shoe history instead :)
