Lunch with me...

What does a salad for $5.75 from my cafeteria look like?

Please do not judge, I TRIED to avoid the Styrofoam but the cost of salads is by weight and the caf peeps were out of other enviro-friendly options.

On my non-training days I try to eat low carb, which generally means salad. Believe it or not I am a rare person whose menu item of choice, even dining out, is salad. Included in today's jumbles of ingredients: Tomato slices, Beets, Mushrooms, Peas (I LOVE peas), Red Peppers, Green Peppers, Egg, Grilled Chicken, Cheddar Cheese, Sunflower seeds and Honey Mustard dressing. I am no authority on nutrition but I know how my body feels when I eat fresh ingredients.

Off to consume my masterpiece. Happy lunching!!

Beautiful salad! :)

Thanks for stopping by my blog - I'm glad to have you there! I'm not ignoring you on Runner's Lounge, I simply cannot remember my password there (the downfall of belonging to so many great places!).

I look forward to reading more of your "no frills" thoughts.

Looks delicious!!! I, too, enjoy salads pretty much every day, even when eating out. It's a staple in our house - we have it with dinner every night and I bring it with lunch every day. I just make sure to mix it up from time to time so it doesn't get boring - different dressings, different veggies, sometimes I add nuts, sometimes feta cheese, etc. I <3 salad!
